Yo, since 4 years I’m complaining about it, it’s pretty annoying to use 30min food every time. In WvW for example you need to pay attention to have 5min food minimum left for the next fight, regardless if its a blobfight or 1on1. Just put up stacking food durations makes alot easier while prices of food should be the same, since the effects dont change and 1 hour food still has an advantage over 30min food. Set up the maximum at 24 hours and everyones happy. Thanks!

No.
Food and nourishment, to me, is lackluster and cheesy.
Frankly, I’d rather them remove food and nourishment and balance it accordingly. Seriously, was the last time you did raids or wvw without food or nourishment? On top of that, the game is beyond easy already, food just further negates any diffucult content.

food is the only way to specilize your build even more. But for that you should make your own thread.

Back to the topic:
And yes, after 40mins of fighting constantly in a blobfight, my food ran out whilst my nourishment was still up due to its 1h duration. Its annoying.

Yes. I like foods. Harvesting it to craft. Crafting it. Using it improve my build. I would like to see an easier way to equalize times with utilities.

If food stacked in duration then it would be competing with the gemstore metabolic primer. I don’t see them allowing food to stack for this reason.

Be careful what you ask for

I use a timer app on my phone. I set it for 28 mins to allow some breathing room. It would be sweet if you could stack duration, it would be a nice QOL change for WvWers.

Yes this should be a thing. I’m pretty sure I was thinking the same thing 4 years ago and then forgot about it haha.

That literally made no sense….

You have 0 reason to not like the OP’s idea. Ur problems are with food itself. Here someone is offering a way to improve upon food without any further negative impact. And you are posting about how food should be removed from the game. I suggest making ur own Opening rather than piggybacking, since it subtracts from discussion of the topic at hand.
Besides food is one, if the only, stats in the game you can mix and match on the fly. Ur builds rely on static gear choices that can’t be changed without considerable investment. I mean food should be celebrated for raising the customization level of all builds. But ur complaints are with how easy the game is and the fact that more stat sources are making it worse. That’s a design choice anet made. If someone needs help with content….buying a boost of some kind to get through the content is more than fair. I mean the best option here for some1 like you is to actually increase the effectiveness of foood (and decrease is availability)…..and increase the difficulty of game content. That way people who need it can opt for food at times they get stuck. While you and the others can have ur game difficulty.

I can appreciate they won’t want to do it because of the metabolic primer, but it would be nice to allow the food to stack up to twice its base duration – e.g. pop two foods at 30 mins and get an hour, but additional food beyond that doesn’t raise it past 60 mins.

They won’t, though – and for good reason – good luck designing a UI for this that doesn’t have people enraged because they popped two foods, saw it stacked, and guzzled a stack of foods before realizing it wasn’t doing anything else for them. I guess they could use the same mechanics as the fractal potions e.g. “can stack up to X times”, but that’s really over complicating things.

I feel your pain, the timer suggestion is probably best if you -need- to have your food up.

If we were able to stack on eating food, there should be a max stack depending on the food. The character should vomit if they try to exeed the amount with the nourishment ripped after the animation.

I don’t personally use food but it would be a nice QoL to be able to stack it to at least a 1 hour duration instead of 30 min.

The primer is a bit better than stacking duration. It gives you the extended duration but you still get the option to switch buffs. With duration stack if you decide to switch you end up wasting some of that duration.

Agreed, I think a limit of stacks in this way would be a good idea (ie causing character vomit).
