Pretty sure that footprints are for main-hand weapons only.

I’m working on Flameseeker Prophecies as well, have the precursor and am at 80% map completion, and have half a million karma and some of the other requirements (Ascalonian Tears etc).

I don’t think it has footsteps at the moment and I’d be stoked if they added it. For all that work, it would be nice.

I hope it doesn’t, I think it’s ugly. That’s the reason I’m working on getting the shield instead of a greatsword.

I wish players could toggle the footprints on and off.

What’s with the footprints anyway? Is that supposed to represent the masses following in the footsteps of a hero who owns a legendary weapon?

Seriously, I don’t understand the point of them nor do I really even like them. I feel someone walked through a puddle of paint and is now tracking his mess all over the floor.

I’m pretty sure the last time my character ran across the in-game snow he left footprints. At least those make sense (although I think only the owner can see them).

I think Moot has the coolest footprints by far

Moot did become pretty awesome with the patch.

I also think when you /dance that a disco ball should appear above you and shine a spotlight down on you. Then you could never be outpartied.

I hope they continue to add more fun stuff to legendaries. First to the ones that are lacking effects of course, but additional stuff to all of them after that too.

I dont know whats the problem about the people who dont like the footsteps. I think its a cool feature. Its special and unique! Those are Legendarys and I think they have to be special and unique like this. Only Legendarys have footprints and this is what it makes difference as the other weapons. Hope footsteps for The Flameseeker-Prophecies comes at next patch.

Something subtle, fitting, and aesthetically pleasing would be nice.

What if a glowing page fell out of the book and flew in the wind behind you every so often?

Nice idea, I’d love to see that.

Quite nice indeed.

As for the footsteps, what about some fancy writing? Was a bit curious how that would look, so made a quick screenshot edit (attachment).

They’d have to use different writing, though (shameless LoTR ripoff in the image below). Something like Old Krytan or Old Ascalonian perhaps.

Well, I was thinking that the pages WOULD be the footstep. A footstep effect doesn’t necessarily have to actually be on the ground – just a trail of any sort.

The writing concept is nice too, but blue writing would probably look better.

Not every legendary needs footsteps…..

Flameseeker Prophecies is one of the better ones in the game, it’s beautiful. Whoever designed it props.

Take my Juggernaut for example. It’s footsteps are terrible, you can barely see them. Might as well remove them. Do I care? No, because the rest of the weapon is amazing.

Flameseeker Prophecies is beautiful, but it doesn’t really do much to qualify as “legendary”.

In german forum they had the idea to paste a button to the UI which can you allow to activate or deactivate the footsteps. might be a good solution…

My Idea, but it seems like the other animations/colors of the legendarys:
