Hey all, I hope you are well.

I’m firstly going to kick this post off with my view on the game. I’m not a massive poster on the forum, but regularly visit to see what is going on and what people have to say. Honestly, this is the first MMORPG I have played which I am yet to get bored of. Other well known games – such as one who’s name resembles an impressed person – were good for 6 months or so and then everything became the same until an unimpressive expansion came out. This game however is constantly evolving into a beautiful, exciting and most of all FUN digital world to take some time out of real life and relax and have a good time. The constant addition of new events just keeps pulling me in further to the game play and as time goes on, people views ARE being heard and implemented as the game develops and grows, and I can only hope that the development team keeps up the brilliant work.

Anyway, on to the main substance of this post…
As someone who played the original ‘Guild Wars’ for many years, this game is a HUGE step up from that. However, there are aspects of that game in which I think are fundamental in order for this game to progress even further.

The first aspect I would like to talk about is the infamous ‘Guild Hall’.
Guild Halls not only gave the guild a sense of accomplishment in the fact that they had worked so hard to achieve an area of the game they could call ‘theirs’, but it meant that the Guild could also hold gatherings, events and throw parties for their Guild Members to enjoy after a hard days gaming.

I feel as though this would benefit GW2 perfectly as there are so many brilliant, friendly and dedicated Guilds on the game, that they deserve a place to unwind and play a game of Belchers Bluff. The Guild Halls could be made public to throw huge parties for ANYONE to attend, even the Sons of Svanir if they wish (gatecrash event, why am i not on the dev team?!). There we go, just an idea.

Also I feel that the game has lost the meaning of the name. GUILD WARS. There are no Guild Skirmishes going on or anyone at war with each other any more! These were fun times for me, and also, not everyone is a good guy

Aside from these two points, please keep up the amazing work ANET and I eagerly await the arrival of Halloween, as last years Halloween festival was amazing.

Anyone else got anything they want to add? Throw your Two Cents in too!

Thanks,

Aphiroth

They stated they wouldn’t release Guild Halls at the beginning so that they would be able to improve their game (and the Guild Halls/implementation of it) to become something spectacular.

I’m with you. I really hope they are working on GvG and guild halls, but just keeping it under tight wraps. Maybe they have something really special in mind to push that type of gameplay forward from where it was before. Of course the downside of that is you can bet many old fans of GvG will hate any new GvG they make simply because it is different in some way.

And hi Esplen! Good CoE run last night. :P

I thought you left ‘cause I was infamous, since we were doing all paths. For the entire next path of CoE, I was paranoid about how infamous/notorious I was on the forums. (I know ingame, I’m notorious for being a troll on my server. But that’s intentional and just for laughs.)

Back on topic:
GvG would be really nice, but I wonder what the player limitation would be. If it’s 5v5, they might as well just make it a mode in sPvP and guilds would queue it regularly. If it’s 10v10, WvW guilds would complain. If it’s 20v20, sPvP guilds would complain (because it turns into more of a clumpfest).

And what about us solo [s]players[s/] guilds?

I was thinking more of a huge battleground where the whole Guild can get involved. A 300 v 300 player war would be so fun IMO. There could be ranking tables and different Guild Rewards for different achievements/rankings.

Also, what do you mean by solo player guilds?
