Legendary SoloQ
For RP; best race for Revenant?
Legendary SoloQ
Probably norn, you already go into the mists for some of the PS paths.
Human. Always.
Considering our first one we have ever seen is a Charr, would not Charr be the best race?

I want to go beyond “who was first” and rather go more into the “why X would fit better than Y from a RP point of view”, if a human/sylv/norn had jumped after the sword they would have been the first one, which isnt a satisfactory explanation at all tbh.

I think we need a bit more lore on how they work. I’m holding off final choices until we get lore and mechanics and a fuller list of channeled entities. This being ANet I will assume that any race will fit.
Human because everything else is fictional
Really though in my opinion no race makes sense or matters. We don’t quite know enough yet. If this is a profession where you come back from the mists how can just anyone do it? We’ll see though how they introduce the class hopefully it will make sense
I would say Norn, due to their affinity for the spirit world, or Human, due to their prior history of travel through the Mists and because of Ritualists. Charr, Asura and Sylvari aren’t particularly spiritual as a race.
Any but Asura.
- Charr- Rytlock is the first Revenant.
- Norn- They talk about Legends all the time.
- Humans- their ancestors were there to experience GW1.
- Sylvari- Because dream stuff.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
Asura often make portals to the mists. And then there’s also fractals.
The best race for it would be Tengu, so just relax and wait with me for a bit.
Obviously Norn because they already have the connection to spirits
Human is ok too i guess but Norn just fits even better
but overall it doesnt matter that much i guess…

A race that fits the name you want to use.
I would chose Human at first.
Norn is alright too and so is Sylvari.
Sylvari because anything you can do plants can do better.
Go charr or asura, or go home.

Mursaat or bust. Everything else is feeble and unworthy.
From a roleplaying point of view, what would be the best/most logical race for the new class in your opinion? Why?
I cant seem to be able to decide :/
okay, when it comes to making a good character for RP never go the seterotypical route. Go with the race you love (or know the most lore about). My revenant will be a Norn not for RP reasons but for that T3 armor
lorewise, norn.
one of the personal stories is already myst-guard. and since revenants will channel the legends of the past to posses their powers, there you go.
the least sense-making race would be asura since they rather don’t give a single flying cat about sentient entities within the mysts and rather try to controll and manipulate the eternal alchemy directly.
If they could, they would also rather tame and exploit dragons as power-conduits than to destroy them. basically that’s what kudu was after already. and if you look into how asura perceive the world, there is no big difference between your all-day asura and the inquest guys. they all tend to abandon ethics (to varying extends) in exchange for progress.
Human. Always.
Well, any race would fit it for sure lore-wise, but Charr and Norn are on top of the list.
The Norn bound with the spirits of the wild and the 1st Revenant being a Charr makes both a logical option.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
That depends. Do you plan on doing ERP?
As a Charr, I accepted Rytlock as my personal lord and savior a long time ago. I will follow him to the ends of the earth and beyond. (On my Charr)

Well in all fairness, we go back and forth to the mists all the time in WvW and PvP.
My answer all of them are the best race rp wise
I just had a thought.
I have asked around in my own private circle about the Revenant. Many, if not all, immediately associated them with being parallel to the GW 1 Ritualist…
But then I had a thought.
What if the Revenant MIGHT be… the stepping stone to a new race in the future?
Sylvari! Because shut up, Rytlock. Belong to the dragon now, my kitten.
Free the Tree!
All of them are the best. Don’t confine your RP. Unleash it in /emote chat in Rata Sum.
Everyone, because you just have to go to the mists and come back apearently, somehing every WvW player does
Nah, to be honest, we don`t know enough about how or what the revenant is anyway, so making speculations are all just that.
Anything except human.

For a Revenant, mine is going to be a Norn. That is as soon as we get character slots on sale Or the xpac comes with additional character slots.
I think Sylvari is the only one that might not make any sense at all depending on the Revenant backstory.
If Rytlock had to descend into the mists to learn to be a Revenant, which I’m not saying this is required I’m just saying if, then it would be strange for a sylvari not having been born yet to have taken the same path as Rytlock.
Sylvari come out of the pod with a profession, after all. If actually visiting the mists is a requirement for being a revenant, all the other races, being adults when you start them, have had the time to take that path.
A sylvari being an age of absolute zero couldn’t do anything outside of the pod and outside of the dream.
Not 100% on this, but i thought Collin said that Rytlock was the first and would teach others to do it. That would mean that no one has to go into the mists. Someone confirm this for me.
Just ask yourself, “What heavy armor looks best on which race/gender”?
Human female wins every time….the other options are not even remotely close.
Neenu Waffler-Warrior for what once was the Toast-

Well… Unless the lore says otherwise, or explains more, how do we know that the Dream ISNT a manifestation of the Mists in some form?
I’m going with Charr most likely; Rytlock looks boss in his new duds.
Going to decide once I see the armours. If the helmet doesn’t look like a teapot or a saucepan bashed open to fit a Charr head then maybe a female charr.
I think Human because well…Reaper of Grenth Elite skill. They already channeling the power of a God.
