For those who like to play with randoms...
I agree with this 100%
It seems like every dungeon I run someone finds an exploit and somehow everyone in the game knows about it except myself.
I’m getting quite tired of these exploits, they keep fixing them and people find more.
An exploit for ArenaNet ; damaging economy, earning cash/items way faster than intended.
Using a little glitch in a dungeon to go faster ; you can’t get banned for that stuff, and it’s fixed quite fast.
Without specifics, it’s hard to know where to draw the line. In general, if you find that you are constantly in disagreement with the 4 other people in your party, then chances are good that you are that guy. The one who ruins PUGs because he expects everyone else to play how he wants instead of how the majority of the group wants. If this particular issue is a deal-breaker for you, then you should state very clearly up front when joining a party that you’re not willing to play in any way that is not clearly intended by the developers. Otherwise you are a submarining the PUGs that you join.

Asking people not to take advantage of glitches and bugs is pretty reasonable, I think.
If there are mobs that you can just skip by running through or around them – well, I don’t see that as an exploit. You haven’t “broken” anything, or taken advantage of something that’s broken. Maybe the group wants to skip, but you want to kill them. This could be a case of “that guy” if you cause a wipe or rage or whine because you didn’t get your way.
On the other hand…
Bypassing an area because you can stack up and use an engineer turret to get through a piece of terrain that you’re not supposed to get through is not how the dungeon was designed to be played. Stacking on a boss so it keeps dropping the hammer when it’s not supposed to is not how the dungeon was designed to be played. These are not viable strategies against designed mechanics. These are taking advantages of bugs, and exploiting them.
So here it’s not a case of being “that guy” who wants everything done his way. It’s a case of knowing that people are doing something that they shouldn’t be doing, and not wanting to participate, and not feeling that it’s right to ask anyone else to do it, either.
Make sense?
Worst part is that if you refuse. You run the risk of being kicked from the group making what you already did a waste of time.
If someone finds an ‘minor glitch’ that lets a 1-hour dungeon run finish in 2 minutes, I would expect that’s banable if exploited (exploited = you run it 120 times in 4 hours every day for a week for 40s each run = 336 gold)
I’ve never gotten kicked by refusing to do a glitch. I guess it’s too hard for them to find a replacement. On the other hand, it’s too hard to do that part of the dungeon alone and you’ll just end up dead and unable to proceed…

So far, that is only your opinion, not an enforced fact.

And yet you know there are people who will expect to do it this way. So bring it up before you start, and everyone knows what they’re getting into. You won’t have to do anything you don’t want to and you avoid the drama of a disagreement when you’re already partway through. Make sense?
I agree you should never need to participate in using glitches in your groups.
That said, it’s pretty sad the game is so filled with them. I know MMOs have plenty of exploitable things but I don’t think I’ve seen one with THIS many, for EVERY encounter, to such an embarrassing degree. Fractals in particular, are so clearly untested I’m surprised they even function without crashing the server.
