What do you do when someone is consistently “screaming” about there topic and dosnt understand rational thought and then does it all over again in every related topic
followed by creating new topics and making the problem as a whole seem much much larger than it is.

ignorance frustrates me and there is alot of it on the forums

(i do understand im not always right btw, i know when to shut up heh)

Wait for Gaile to close their threads, but yea I know what you mean, some people just create one thread after another about this or that, mounts, expansions, etc etc. Best thing you can do is find a link to a larger existing thread and put it in their post, and eventually it will be closed because its repititive and existing threads exist on the subject.

I say what needs to be said, get used to it.

Unfortunately, rationality seems to fall deaf on their ears. Yes, we all know the people you speak of. At this point, I recommend you report them if you feel they’re out of line.

Unfortunately, again, I get the impression the moderators are understaffed with the holidays right now. So we’re seeing stuff that would normally get the chopping block pretty instantly.

For now, ignore them if they frustrate you. Spinning your wheels isn’t worth it. I have a list of names I now ignore when I see their names. That list grows daily. But that’s the nature of forums.

And, as Targren correctly points out, life on the Internet for that matter.

These irrtational people (in your opinion) are completely rational in their own opinion.

You have to look at it on the flip side. These people that you’re arguing against could post the exact same thread as this, with you in mind :P EDIT: This is why you have had some “rude” comments so far, people think you’re being hypocritical.

Learn that the vast majority of people in this world will not have their opinion swayed by somebody with the opposing opinion (especially someone that they do not know), with or without relevant and valid evidence.

Often they will not go back on themselves because they honestly believe that their evidence/experiences are “more true” than yours, or will simply not admit that they’re wrong because they feel that giving in will tarnish their ego.

Yes, it does. No matter how irrational, nonsensical, or downright self-contradictory an opinion someone might hold, someone else shares it. The internet allows all of these precious little snowflakes to find each other and roll up into a big ball of “justification for wholesale misanthropy”, which then bashes itself to bits against the other snowball that feels the opposite way.

A perfect analogy. Somebody is much less likely to have their opinion “converted” if they have already found like-minded people. “Multiple people can’t be wrong”.

heh yea i get people that have different opinions to me im fine with them heh
i have no problem being wrong or seeing someone who disagrees with me
however recently alot of posts seem to be more attacking the company and other people that post than actually adding anything relevent to the conversation
and then there are the ones that just dont stop posting the same topic multiple times(making the problem potentialy seem bigger than it is)
and it kind of skews what seems important to people
i mean i see a bunch of diffferent topics by different people but then there are some that are repeated over and over again by the same person

I have never understood people who object to others making threads on forums. I dislike certain forum posters as well, but I simply do not click on their threads. Or if a person is creating many threads, don’t click on them. Problem solved.

heh yea i get people that have different opinions to me im fine with them heh

and it kind of skews what seems important to people
i mean i see a bunch of diffferent topics by different people but then there are some that are repeated over and over again by the same person

1) Some people don’t care about what other people think and feel, but feel that they need to broadcast their opinion all over the place and repeatedly to feel heard.

2) Not everybody is perfectly sane. A lot of people think irrationally. What you’re trying to do is rationalise the irrational, or you’re assuming that everybody is a rational thinker (which is probably what you’re used to).

3) There are a lot of trolls. Many are obvious, a few aren’t. These few will come across with ludicrous accusations/claims/conspiracies that are well rehearsed and have clever and well-thought out explanations. It’s easy for a troll to get fast responses by posting something like “We need mounts!”- people are so frustrated by these repeated topics now that they’ll jump straight in and post something angry with the deadhorse.gif . Trolls relish the attention and tension.

4) A lot of people come to the forums to complain about things if they believe that it may improve their situation. Very few players are going to step into the forum for their first time to congratulate (sincerely) on a development choice.

5) People like to complain. It’s often easier to complain about something than it is to praise it. Often people complain about something because its easy to find somebody who has a similar outlook on the particular topic or a similar one.

Pretty much what both Targren and Crimson said. Sad state, but again, train your brain to bypass posts when you see certain names.

You can either report every single post if it is off topic or duplicate posts or you can click on their forum name and view their profile.
There is an option to report the user in general, where you can describe whatthe user is doing wrong. That way, the mods will not look at single posts but the post history of the user.
