Forums too bright
I recommend using Firefox with the addon ‘Dark Background and Light Text’.
It solves exactly that problem and works for most websites. My background is dark grey, links are light blue and text is cream coloured. Easy on the eyes, especially in low lighting conditions.
Am I the only one that needs to put on sunglasses to read the GW2 forums?
Is there any way to turn the white into black and the black into white?
You could light the way through the English Channel with this page.
Seriously though, your drying my skin out.
There are numerous browser add-ons for this kind of thing. Just search for a high-contrast addon for your browser.

White text on a black background is bad for the eyesight — that is a scientific fact. However, more color options for this forum would be nice.
Since you claim you needed sunglasses, I suggest you adjust your monitor settings as it sounds like your brightness is at an unhealthy level.
What are you, a Gremlin? Man up and eyeball that screen until you are either done reading or it rotate away awkwardly.

I agree – Light text on a dark background is extremely difficult for me to look at for more than a couple of minutes.

You know…I didn’t notice until I read what you said…
It’s never bothered me but then I tend to keep the brightness quite low on any monitor I’m using. I try to make it like looking at a piece of white paper rather than an illuminated screen.
There’s someone I work with who does the opposite and I can’t look at her screen for more than a few minutes without getting a headache. I don’t know how she puts up with it but she insists it’s fine and looks exactly the same as my screen.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I don’t typically associate the word “bright” with forums.
Just sayin’.

well… very dumb remark but maybe lower your brightness?…. Works perfect especiallyn low light environments haaving the screen produce only half (or mybe eveen less) could be the way to go? will not change colors, just the amount of light produced
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
It’s like reading print on a lightbulb.
And yes, I could turn the brightness down by using the slider in the settings section of my iPad but then every other site I read is dark including my books on kindle, because they have normal brightness now.
ANet may give it to you.
It is the main reason I use an addon to alter background and text.
Bright? What’s that? Stylish ftw! Edit: I also use PangoBright to reduce monitor brightness / eye strain.
Hey, that’s pretty slick.
Though, pst, might wanna blur out your personal details on the screen capture.

Oh lol! It doesn’t really matter, this is only a secondary account, feel free to steal it. XD
Depends on what you mean OP…
I find some of them a bit too dim.
OP, if you are asking other players for advice, it looks like some information was provided.
If you are asking ArenaNet, be aware that no changes such as your suggestion are possible. The third-party that created the forum software no longer works on forum software, and did not train anyone at ArenaNet.
Good luck.

I was about too challenge this claim until I found this.
Apparently, there has been extensive research in this area, but there’s no singular color combination that works in all cases for all people.

xD I belive that’s exactly the same style I use: https://userstyles.org/styles/76247/dark-gw2-forums
