I have noticed an even lower rate as usual of getting rarer materials from salvaging an item with a Black Lion Salvage Kit( 50% ) or a Master/Mystic Forge Salvage Kit (25%).

This days salvaging yellows/oranges is dropping less ectos/salvage with a Black Lion than ever, this is bad, but when we come back from fractals, bags full of crap, once and again, getting a rarer material from a master/mystic is by a large amount of trys closer to 10% than the supossed 25%, and it may not be so wastefull, but surely it is wrong to try again and again and just get the same 2 mithrils ( wooden or cloths are just not worth salvaging anymore ) and get 1 orichalcum ( if any) from all the Fractal crap.

Maybe fractal items have less chance to salvage ? It needs a closer view.

and never ever get an ecto from them

I get loads of ectos out of fractal run rares. I think you just have on days and off days. I’ve had days with lots of rares and only a handful of ectos, and I’ve had days with just a couple rares and 2-3 ectos from each salvage.

I’ve saved up 70 ectos in the past 1.5 weeks from just salvaging rares from fractals with mystic salvage kits. In the 2.5 weeks prior to that I saved just over 160 ectos when saving to upgrade my ascended backpiece. (I shelled out gold for the remaining 90 i needed for the upgrade).

I don’t care much about getting Ori or Gossamer from them. You could salvage ectos to sell, then just buy the Ori/Gossamer.

My tip: save up a bunch of rares and do them all at once so if you miss a couple salvages, it doesn’t feel like the end of the world. You will always get about 1 ecto per rare on average. This has never changed.
