Fractals and Ascended Gear

Does anyone else find it odd that the only place where ascended is REQUIRED only gives you the ability to get rings and a back piece (plus the .001 chance of getting the ascended weapon box that you can actually use from the daily chest)?

I mean im all for having different ways of getting ascended gear but the fact that i have thousands of fractal relics with like 60 pristines and nothing to spend them on just doesnt make any sense :/

They should make ascended armor buy-able with relics + pristine relics. Same concept as dungeon armor. It could even be a different skin then the one crafted.
