I’m rather new at fractals but had a terrible experience a couple of days ago.
I was with a friend in the party and we opened it to 3 others to do T4.

Nearing the end of the fight, 4 of us died while the last member survived and killed the boss. The chest spawned and instead of ressing us so that we can take the chest, he proceeded to stand around like a king and refused to ress us as if he was saying “I carried you noobs”.

This left me flabbergasted that such behavior was allowed to exist in game without a proper countermeasure like auto-ressing all party members if the final boss is defeated so we don’t have to go through ‘begging’ this last remaining pro to ress us.

Errr generally speaking if you beat the final boss and everyone is out of combat (with 4 of you dead nobody is in combat) you get the pop up to respawn at checkpoint.

I don’t really understand why you needed someone to res you tbh

Yup, often enough I try to rez someone after the end boss is dead, but that person just teleports to last checkpoint and takes longer to get his chest, than if he would’ve just stayed there.

Is there any possibility that your last party member was still infight? Because that’s the only thing I know of, that could’ve prevented you from spawning at the last checkpoint.

You encountered a troll. Some people are toxic, and from what I could see so far, the higher the tier of the fractals, the more toxic people you’ll meet (I was told T3 is worst and T4 better then).

Just look at the LFG ads, where people write things like “… one mistake = kick” or “no noobs”.

On the other hand, some people who join pugs are the reason that this exists. If I advertise my party as “farm”, then don’t leave after the first run. Farm means we are doing the same fractal over and over again for loot.

I had some frustrating experiences with pugs in fractals, but the vast majority of people are nice and forgiving, at least in lower tiers. It’s better to remember those and put the toxic people on the friends list with the alias “toxic”.

Two weeks ago a Necromancer soloed the Swampland boss from 25% on because the rest of the group died. We applauded him and made fun about our failure. He resurrected us and we took the chest, all fine.

That’s people for you.

Not all of them obviously, but there are people out there who will do things like this given any opportunity. Either because they somehow find it amusing or because they genuinely think they have the right to lord it over everyone else because things went their way for once.

One thing that might help is putting something like “first timers” or “everyone welcome” in the group description. As well as the explicit purpose of inviting other people who are in a similar position to give it a try it lets more experienced players who expect or demand that everyone conform to their expectations know they are not going to get that here and to find another group.

If he wasn’t jumping on your body and throwing inflammatory remarks at you then he probably didn’t mean to “lord it over you.” He might have just been organizing his loot and thought that since all 4 of you were dead, it would be faster and more convenient for you guys to just respawn a few meters back and then run back to get your loot.

If there was some confusion, then you could ask him to revive you and if he doesn’t see the chat then just respawn. It’s not healthy to assume that everyone is purposefully being toxic; sometimes it’s just a miscommunication.

Should be able to boot the guy by vote at that point I’d think. If he is still some how in combat keeping you guys from releasing to last point than that’d solve that problem.
