Was not expecting an adjustment like this to make it into a bug fix patch, but thanks!

For those who haven’t read the notes:
Updated condition damage. Previously, a condition that had a fractional remainder of time after it dealt damage would not inflict the rest of its damage. For example, a 1.5-second burn would deal 1 second of burning damage, then fail to inflict the remaining 0.5 seconds of burning. Conditions will now deal this fractional damage either at the beginning or end of their duration, depending on when the next damage pulse would occur and their remaining duration.

Yeah, I would have figured this would be more of a “feature” than a “bug” that’s lasted for ~2.5 years. But I’m happy nonetheless, a bunch of my characters ended up going condi, just because I prefer those weapon skills more than the power weapons.

Now we just need them to change the condi damage to fractional damage.
+19 condi == no increase in bleed damage
+20 condi == +1 bleed damage

And see if anything can be done about the global max stacks.

Still some steps towards making condis more viable outside of PvP!

i rather liked stacking melandru + food for -61%, which no offensive buffs countered efficiently. goodbye rounding error abuse.

This does indeed suggest that perhaps ANet is looking at condi reworks in the near future. For now at least condi ticks will be normalized, no more 50/50 if you get the extra tick on a .5 second leftover or not, now you get a half tick every time.

This was already implemented in the 3/16 patch, but it was bugged really badly. For the duration stacking condis (burning, poison), instead of extending them properly and recalculating the fractional ticks, sometimes they would stack them instead and hit with a double tick. I was getting hit for 1500-1600 burn ticks in PVP.

Looks like they fixed the bug they introduced though, and the fractional damage no longer double ticks. The condis extend properly, and you get the fractions only on the front or end of the condi.
