Does ANet ever plan to enable a free look toggle option? Holding down the right mouse button constantly to look around is very painful on my hand after awhile.

I managed a workaround in the meantime, but it’d be nice to have it supported in-game!

Free look, you mean that you can turn your character without turning your camera along?

There’s an option to “lock and unlock” the camera, on Options window.
It’s the first option page there, in “Camera” options, “Use Free Camera”.

This option allows you to unlock the camera with left-click, and lock the camera again with right-click.

Also works with turning the camera.
Hold left mouse button to turn camera without turning your character with it.
Hold right mouse button to turn camera and character.

If you meant that you could toggle mouse to move camera without holding down mouse button, then there isn’t one…

I highly doubt such thing would be added, since pretty much all players already hold down the right or left mouse buttons to turn the camera.

Including that you need the mouse pointer to target AoE circles…

I’m a casual PvE adventurer, I enjoy combat, adventure and helping, but not farming.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

There is a 3rd party Action Combat mod which might be just what you are looking for. Googling ‘GW2 Action Combat mod’ should bring it up. The dev’s seem to be okay with it since it doesn’t actually offer an advantage.

Combat Mode? Tried it, and it totally fubar’d my ability to used the mouse when alt-tabbing out of the game to my other monitor. Ended up having to reboot. Though honestly that’s pretty much exactly what I’m looking for.

I use an AutoHotKey script at the moment, all is does is hold down the RMB until I click it again. Basically a key press toggle. In combat I can just toggle it off to have mouse targeting for AOE’s, and I can easily toggle it off when I want to use my second monitor. It’s messy, but it works.

Honestly, it’d be nice if they had a simple way of having mouselook without having to hold down the RMB constantly. If they haven’t done it by now though I’m not holding out much hope.

Combat mod is verboten based on A.Net’s FAQ. They do not allow 3rd party mods to be used. Use at your own risk and if you are caught and banned, don’t come here to whine about it.

Not trying to cheat, just make it so I can play this game without further hand injury. RSI is a real issue for me.

Edit: I won’t be using Combat Mode now anyway, since it causes problems with my multiple monitor setup.

Furthermore, Double-Clicking on stacks again and again is quite a problem for me, too. Be nice if ANet made a right-click context option to “open all” which would use/open all the items in the stack until your inventory is full.
