the duplicate armor has no level requirement, in case you were a brand new player, means you can use it right away, the guild commendation is a currecny guilds use to buy upgrades and the like.
the armor set is basically a set of skins for that armor class. i would look on the wiki to see what they look like, and pick the one you like the best. afaik, purely cosmetic. worth a decent amount of money if you were to buy it on the gemstore, so choose wisely.
the guild item gives “influence” to the guild, which the guild uses to buy upgrades to make the guild better. not a noticable amount tbh
and no, the upgrade isn’t really worth getting. it has some very minor things, but not enough to warrant the cost
The legacy set of armor just lets you apply that look to any armor of the same weight, there isn’t much else to it. It’s called legacy because they are based on(almost direct copy) from GW1. You can also buy them from the gemstore, they are the profane(light), krytan(medium), and primeval(heavy) sets. You can also use the wardrobe at any bank/crafting station to preview how each one looks before choosing. Then you can just choose the one you like best.
The rest of the stuff are nice to have but they aren’t really that important.

No, guild commendations are a completely different things. Players get those for completing guild missions(the guild gets guild merits). Influence is the currency for guild upgrades.
The set of skins of the armor you choose is so you can get a free use of that skin later on, if you want to use it.
Make a private guild and use the letter of influence. You can buy your first 50 slot guild bank for extra storage.
I picked the medium for my female thief and I must say it looks really cool. if I can find out how to take a print screen of my toon I will upload a photo.
I’m pretty sure I got a set of low level blues and some skins as I put the armour set on right away, I don’t think it replaced the set I was wearing but I could be wrong. The stats definitely went up tho,, I think!? lol
In the short run the stats may help you but very soon you won’t need them for the stats any more. So I’m glad you got a look you like.
Screenshots:
Easiest: Hit “Print Screen” on your keyboard. That will send a screenshot to C: > Users > Your Name > My Documents > Guild Wars 2 > Screens. (I assume you are a PC Windows user in this, I have no knowledge of Macs). It is possible it fills up at 999 screenshots so you may want to periodically transfer out your screens.
More Elaborate: You can keybind a UI toggle so you get rid of your chat box and XP bar and skills bar etc for purposes of your picture. I put mine on F11 so it’s near Print Screen for rapid toggleUIoff-snap picture-getUIback moves.
Extra Credit: If you bring up your options panel you’ll see camera settings towards the bottom. Shrink the FoV, use camera offsets, etc, and you can get very close pictures. You can also skip taking a full screenshot if you use the Windows Snipping Tool, which lets you quickly freeze your monitor’s image and crop out a section to save in a folder of your choice. That will not be as large or hi-res a file, of course. Or you can go to your screenshots folder and Snip and rename the good parts of the shots you want to share.

It will let you upload an image, with a Browse button to pick what you want to use. “Preview” will let you see your post with that image, and you can add more images by repeating the process. This is where the Snip version is handy, as they are smaller and easier to process.

The wearable pieces you get in addition to the skins are actually rares so that wouldn’t be very surprising.

Yeah, they made me better so I’m running round doing quests with my thief that are higher level than me, I’d have died if i wasn’t wearing this legacy gear, really good starter set. They have slots to put something in as well but I don’t know what that’s about yet, it’s like materia innit? I’m sure ff7 was the first to do the slots in weapons and armour thing, was soooooooo cool, ha ha.

Thanks. I have that snipping tool actually so maybe I can do it the simple way

I’ve used it to great effect! The main thing to watch out for if snipping from the game itself is that there’s a short delay between clicking the tool and freezing the image, so if you have things moving (blinking eyes, idle animations, drawn weapons getting sheathed, pink mohawked charrs running across the field behind you) you might end up with a shot you didn’t want.
