Frequency of new content updates?
6 months, either a full expansion (for first 3 cycles) or after that smaller content updates
6 months is a good timeframe
I don’t think it’s useful to compare GW1 to GW2 in this regard because they work so differently – ArenaNet did get large new campaigns out at 6 month intervals for GW1, but they were like separate games rather than ‘new content’ added to existing campaigns, which was MUCH rarer.
As for dungeons and such… I think the less vertical progression will make a difference. I’m also not sure more dungeons is necessarily what we’ll get in major updates, certainly not all the time. In the meantime, watch what happens with Halloween, since it seems they have significant stuff planned.
In terms of like, major content updates such as new zones and the like, I imagine we’ll see smaller, but more frequent updates than we did in GW1, because they tended to do those as separate standalone campaigns (which were MASSIVE in scope).
I’m hoping for development similar to Rift, personally. Trion really set the bar for adding content to their game with major events pretty much constantly as well as a ridiculous stream of new modes of play for just about everyone imaginable.
Priorities, what to do?

I don’t think the expansions for GW1 were out every 6 months. They were closer to a year apart.
That being said Anet has gone on record as saying they want to offer more free content than paid. Or more free content than any other mmos out there.
Factions came out in April 2006 and Nightfall came out in October 2006. But there was a year gap between Prophecies which came out in April 2005.
Eye of the North was released in August of 2007.
Sorrows Furnace (the first major content released for GW1) was released in September 2005.
