I came up with this idea about a year ago, but I never expected anet to have any interest in the ideas of the player base. Since then, a lot of their changes have been influenced by our feedback, so I’ve decided to share my ideas as well.

While anet has done a great job with introducing new miniatures, dyes, finishers, outfits and now gliders, I believe there’s an entire untouched marketing area that’d have the same impact on the player experience (and thus anet’s quarterly)
These changes wouldn’t require immense time and resources. They’d be super easy to implement.

• Banner Skins: Imagine, after 3 years of maining warrior, you’ve equipped just about every combination of colors, silly hats and menacing greatsword skins. Finally HoT is out, so you’re playing Berserker. Is this all there is to look forward to? No! For 800 gems, unlock the Super Adventure Banner Skin Package. These brand new skins will now replace your boring old red and green ones (or purple and orange for you casuals)
  Not only that, but when they land, they have the same explosive effect as the Super Finisher! For you Sylvari warriors, we have the Dreamthistle Banner Skin Package… blah blah blah

• Turret Skins. Why stop at little helicopter gyros? After all engineers have been through, why not let them bond with their turrets? Introducing a Christmas special: Snowman Turret Skins! Little snowmen with cute faces and deadly weapons.. whatever you get the idea.

• Conjured weapon skins: For when that ele decides that maybe removing half a break bar is worth bringing an icebow. (RIP ice bow)

• Spirit Weapon Skins, Flesh Golem Skins, Different pets (oh wait we have dragons now) well… what if those dragons had skins of their own? Dashingly Handsome Juvenile Fire Wyvern Skin, only 200 gems!

Because this company needs to focus more on the cash shop right?

The only problem I can see is when you get icons in your boon/condi area with corresponding utilities (i.e. Banners actually show the utility banner icon) and would cause confusion for other players that are less observant. However, that would not bother me in the least.

I would love to see some random skins either more “cool” looking or just plain ridiculous like soiled underwear on a stick for the Battle Standard. Banner that represent your country, etc.
(If you haven’t realized yet, I main warrior).

I’m all for it, and it would definitely give players more customization with their characters along with creating more aesthetic attractiveness for themselves. Isn’t that what Fashion Wars 2 is all about?

If he had suggested that the skins would be obtained from difficult achievements or very grindy methods, would you have called him an elitist or complain he has too much time opposed to the average player base?

To add onto this, how about cultural default gliders?

The sylvari get plant looking ones.
The asura get techno ones.
The charr get iron/jetpack looking ones.
The humans get a fancy looking traditional glider, maybe a tail on it to make them feel special.
The norn get one that uses animal pelts or something.

Gliders seemed like the perfect opportunity to do culturals.

I wouldn’t give a kitten. I’m just kittening tired of the cash shop getting more updates than the game overall. They’d rather make gem store crap then fix needed bugs, etc.

How about new animations.

Well turning these things into micro-transactions is meh but it does seemingly increase the likelihood of it happening (i.e. like glider skins).
