Guild Wars 2

Okay, so me and my friend play together just about everyday. We usually do WvW just to rack up some pretty easy xp. He is a lvl 65 mesmer and I am a lvl 70 warrior. My problem is…he gets more xp than me for the exact same things we do. For example(and this is what brought me here in the first place) we will be in WvW and if we are to take on the same Champion and get the control point, i will get about 20,000xp, where he will get 28,000xp!! In fact last night he got 38,000xp where i got 20,000xp from the exact same champion. It really bothers me seeing how i am a higher lvl. We sat and talked and tried to figure out when the problem is, but cant find anything. Help???

Does your friend have a food buff? Or more achievement points than you do? Are you in the same guild?

boosters, consumables, guild bonus?

are you on the same server? I assume so, but just throwing this out there:
as your server gets a higher score, they get bonuses
highest tier for exp is +10%
if your friend has higher achievement points, that would help explain it: you get gold / magic / karma / exp increase as your AP goes up but that’s only up to about 12% at 10k AP.
some foods give +10 exp per kill, some give +10% exp, some give +15% exp.
let’s see… other reasons:
50% experience booster (or experience bonfire)
100% birthday booster
30% laurel experience booster
+5% guild exp bonus
+10% guild exp bonus
+10% heroes banner
20% experience utility infusion
+33% for being outnumbered in wvw

also, I’ll add that you don’t get “20,000 exp” from a kill. you get “10% of a level” from a kill. a level 70 would get more total exp from the same kill as a level 60. both would get 10% of their level (for example), but a level 70 requires a little more exp to gain a level than a level 60.

If they did wvw together, they have to be on the same server.
