Wasn’t sure where to post this so here it is.

When you hit you character select screen there’s an option to go invisible. At this point can people who have added you as a friend see that you are online or do they only see you once you select a character and actually get into a map?

Sometimes I just feel like playing and not talking to a bunch of people so I go invisible but I’ve always wondered if people can see me at the character screen and then see me vanish when I click invisible.

Just curious..thanks for any replies.

I’m pretty sure they see you vanish because I think your name pops up as online but not highlighted the moment you press log in, regardless of whether or not you start the game and go to character select.

The evidence I’m using for this is the clear ability to tell who is downloading a new patch by peering at my friends list. Their launcher is up and they’re logged in but they’re not at character select yet.

Yea it announces to all your friends that you are online once you hit Log-In on the launcher and then announces you go offline when you go invisible.

Not a very good system!

There was a time when login looked like this and you could log-in already invisible.
