I have a Suggestion that I tried to submit through the support system. They told me

Hello Victoria,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to share your ideas about Guild Wars 2. We have found that the best way for the development team to gather and review player feedback and suggestions is through our official forums. We ask players to post their ideas in our Official Forums: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum

Please post your suggestion in the forum most relevant to the subject at hand. For instance, if you are writing about PvP, post in one of the three PvP sub-forums. If you are making a suggestion about the Trading Post or Gem Store, post in the Black Lion Trading Company sub-forum. And if you are writing about the Living World, feel free to post in one of those sub-forums.

Members of the Development Team read the Suggestions Forum daily, and while they usually cannot respond to individual suggestions, the fact that team members can review those suggestions in a public forum helps them gauge the level of interest in a particular idea, and also allows other players to discuss and offer feedback of their own.

The team looks forward to reviewing your input.

Regards,

Adonis

So I come here looking for the “Suggestion Forum” only to find that it is Archived and I can’t post their. It’s like this company doesn’t want to hear from it’s players much less their suggestions. So I’m just going to post it here.

Enjoy my email to Arena Net in the first place I can find to post that seems to fit the topic. I’m so frustrated at finding where they sent me to post this not availible to be posted in.

Reference the 50% off Gw2 sales specifically.

Also Please forgive my Spelling the Public School System and my Parents failed me horribly in my Education.

You people don’t seem to understand that a good deal of the gamerbase is on some form of governmental assistance and that assistance gets paid out on the 1st of everymonth, you don’t seem to understand Government Employees get payed on the 1st of the month or the very last buisness day of the month.

So anyone in a Federal or Governmental Job, Anyone who is on SSA, SSI, SSD, SSDI, TANF, GA-U, GA-X anyone who is on these programs gets paid on the 1st, That’s alot of people who can’t afford to take advantage of the sales because of when you time them. I have at minimum of 3 people who would love to join in Tyria but can’t because they can’t afford the normal prices and your sales come at a point in the month that they can’t afford it because they can’t plan for it.

Example I live on SSI which means I get 711.00 on the 1st of the month. by the 15th all my money which was carefully budgeted is gone. Thus The timing of your sales leave me no head notice to beable to plan it into my budget and thus I’m broke when you decided to have these sales. When I bought my key for the game I did it on a whim that left me eating Green beans and the rest of the month.

I know others who live from paycheck to paycheck which comes on the 1st that would love to join the game but you all don’t have a trial account even, much less put your sales out at a time when all your clients would have money. The 1st of the month. So for over 6 months one of my friends has begun to hate how this company does the sales which eventually trickles into a overall hatred thanks to the Exclusionary nature of your policies where sales are concerned.

It’s not going to be much longer before she stops wanting to play this game and hates your company for not helping her get into the game. In other words your loosing at minimum that i know of 3 peoples buisness over when you hold your sales. So at even 40.00 for the key you’ve lost 120.00 from my word of mouth and my Twitching.

So if one 3 people may stop wanting to play over this policy that we know of, then how many of them are you loosing that you don’t know of. All because you can’t hold your sales on the 1st. How many millions in sales for keys and Gems are you loosing because your being Exclusive in how you have sales.

Their it is now out here for the world to see.

Seems to me the obvious solution is to put aside a set amount of money and spend it when a sale comes along.

Also, if you’re forgoing food in order to buy games and ingame items, perhaps you should consider buying these items with ingame gold. Just a thought.

Bristleback can’t hit anything? Let’s fix the HP bug instead.

Don’t take it the wrong way, but this is something that could easily be remedied if you know how to manage your budget efficiently.

Oh, dear! If someone has a government job, I daresay they can afford the 25.00 for the game on sale, no matter when the sale hits.

If others can not put aside 8.50 a month for 3 months to save up for the game on sale, then perhaps they can not afford to buy a game at this time.

If anyone is going without food over buying a game, well….I’m not sure what to say.

I live on a much, much lower fixed income than you do, and I could not imagine complaining about when sales are offered. Have you thought about the reason the game was offered at a sale price at this particular time? Could it have had anything to do with Gamescon? Is it possible the people hired as Marketing professionals might have a method to their madness?

Food for thought.

Oh! And although the CS Team did mistakenly direct you to the Suggestions forum later in their response to you, they did direct you first to post in the sub-forum that would be most apropos to your suggestion. I daresay, when they edited their ‘suggestion’ response, they forgot to remove that part (which used to be viable). Even CS Team members are human. If you would like more information, there is a thread in News and Announcements addressing the retirement of the Suggestion Forum.

Good luck.

More of a comment on the suggestion forums…they were closed because it made more sense for suggestions to be placed in the area they pertain to. Plenty of suggestions made by people end up in game.

However this suggestion I’m pretty sure won’t make much of an impact. I agree that if you can’t afford $25 in the middle of the month, particularly knowing these sales come periodically and you can save slowly for them, I’m not sure that making it on the first of the month is better.

Also many people pay rent on the first of the month, and therefore have no money left over for games at that time. Probably more than can’t afford it due to pensions.

Just saying.

  • …can’t post ‘there’.

Don’t blame others for your learning outcomes.

Step 1)
On the first of the month, when you indicate that the money would be available to purchase GW2 at the sale price, your friend(s) put the $25 in an envelope and put the envelope in a safe place.

Step 2)
Don’t touch the envelope before the next GW2 sale.

Step 3)
Watch for a GW2 sale.

Step 4)
Open the envelope when a sale begins.

Step 5)
Buy GW2.

With these 5 steps you have spent no more money than if the sales were actually scheduled to meet your (or your friends’) personal financial needs.

A True gamer needs no food!Internet is optional(wifi hunting) and money is for upgrading PC/PS3/Xbox and buy games!(Joking)

Try to save that 10-20 euro for when a sale comes.
