Is there any way making this could be made less expensive and/or less time-gated? This is getting out of hand imo, and it still is popular food for raiding druids.

Welcome to the costs of playing WvW for the past few years, all with less rewards. I know I’ve personally sunk around 800g in Furious Oils.

Unfortunately it’ll never be resolved. ANet wants to keep these prestigious short-term consumables expensive for whatever reason because catering to their daily log-in-rewards-type crowd means more to them than those actively playing the game.

Ok. I didn’t realize that. 2 gold 20 silver for a sheet of charged ambrite is a bit over the top imo, then you don’t even have 1 furious tuning crystal yet. Add to that a vicious fang and 2 piles of crystalline dust.

Also you can only get a charged quartz crystal once a day per account if you want to make it yourself.

Can one sell these Tuning Crystals? I have stacks of Charged Ambrite. Perhaps, I should craft some Crystals.

Never mind. I see it’s account-bound. Pity.

Yeah I know about the WvW food… I WvW’d a lot up untill raids came out. Because I never played anything else than WvW, I usually played even, gold-wise, because of the expensive food. That’s not good.
But, since a year there’s been changes to the WvW reward system, which is better at least.

Still, whhhyyy uuuu nooo cheaper furious focusing crystal! https://imgflip.com/s/meme/Y-U-No.jpg

I don’t know how to correctly add a harmless picture in text.

The Charged Ambrite return a pretty penny on the TP.

Yeah but…..

25 Quartz at this moment price of 9.77 silver each is 2.4425 gold
10 Ambrite is 5 silver
So, cost to make is 2.4925 gold

Sell price for one charged ambrite is 2.1595 gold.
You’d get 28.4 silver more if you sell the Quartz and Ambrite separately.

I don’t think one can uncraft, or whatever the method used, Charged Ambrite, no?

No, you can’t uncraft it. But if the crafted item sells for less than the raw mats why craft it in the first place unless it’s for personal use. That’s what I was pointing out.

I think costs less than crafting it because people crafted tons of the charged ambrite back when quartz was cheap and the supplies are still not used up

While you can’t flat out buy these utility effects (since they are account bound) you can speed up the process of crafting them by buying some of the components. Unfortunately, sellers know these components are needed for these items and several other craftable items and collections, and price will always go up when demand goes up. That’s just how it goes.

For your case though, I’d suggest, as I would for all those with high value, low time foods and boosters, Invest in some primers!

They aren’t cheap, but neither is this Utility. Granted, the recipe produces 5, but the time is 30 minutes a pop. 1 primer adds 12 hours time to a food or utility you’re running, and in my opinion is well worth it.

Primers are still less efficient in gold than just buying the materials and crafting them.

Truth, but if the charged ambrite is already made, you cant recover the mats. So for the ones already crafted and in your inventory, might as well sell them.

Even more amusing is that Anet thinks GW2 has an “economy”, and that somehow “it’s in a good place right now”.

It’s nice that technology is moving along and that more choices are on the horizon :/

You may have missed the latest post by John Smith; it is not thought the ‘economy is in a good place right now’, else waiting for some ‘bubbles’ to burst would not be the procedure at hand.

Good luck.
