So for everyone who finished LW, we know that it will only be a few more additions to the game before our master and creator kicks the bucket. Also the Pale Tree is dying. Both of these will leave the Sylvari in total disarray. What’s going to happen to my Sylvari character? Where do y’all think they will go from here? I liked the addition of the Nightmare Court because they raised good questions about the rigidity of following Ventari, but I haven’t liked how they made the NC such an evil counter to the Tablet. It’s like, either the Sylvari in-game strive towards an idealized concept of perfection or they are straight up evil and murderous. Will the writers finally give our salad people a middle ground after all this dust settles?

I think the NMC was made evil just because the game needed a typical sylvari antagonist group like the Inquest or the Sons of Svanir. There are NMC characters who aren’t explicitly evil, though, it’s just that the game doesn’t bother exploring them.

We´ve got Canarch. I think he is going to be a key piece on the HOT living story.

Thanks to my illusions this combat is nothing but a stage scene.
You should prepare for your great finale.

there’s not only sylvari that follow the dream or join the nightmare court, there’s also the soundless, sylvari that follow neither the dream nor the nightmare court, they’re just a peaceful bunch of sylvari living in a village on a small island near mabon market in caledon forest.
there’s also people like malyk from the sylvari personal story, who has no connection to the pale tree, the nightmare court, or the soundless. there seem to be other groups of sylvari that we have yet to meet.
the sylvari characters that were made by players are most likely always going to be categorized as “good”, meaning not turning to mordremoth, at least according to the set lore in game.
what you do with your sylvari in your own role playing world is up to you however.
i could also be wrong about our sylvari characters never turning to mordremoth, who knows.

The Pale Tree was badly injured but she’s not going to die. Remember, the flower lady we see in the story is just a projection she uses to speak to people. The Pale Tree is actually the gigantic tree towering over the Grove. And plants are frequently more resilient than people. You can knock a tree over completely but as long as some of its roots are still in the soil and some of its branches are still intact it will recover and grow back.

I suspect when HoT starts we’ll see her recovering.
