Future patches and Guild Halls/Capes
No matter how they’re introduced capes will never be loved by all players. At best you’d get 99.99% because I really couldn’t care less about them. I’m not against them being in the game, but if people didn’t keep going on about it I would never have thought about the fact they aren’t. So if they were added the best they’d ever get from me is “Oh ok, one less reoccurring forum topic”.
Also if you know the issues with clipping and animation you should also know that it’s not something Anet can just snap their fingers and fix. I’m sure if it was that easy they’d have done it already but I’m equally sure all the people wanting capes would rather not have them than have terrible, broken capes that just look ugly or like a weird glitch following you around.
Guild halls….again I feel like I somehow missed something here in GW1. None of my guilds ever really used the guild hall. Sure it was sometimes nice to be able to push a couple of buttons and go to a town with all the different merchants available right there, but you could do the same with map travel and in this game by going to any major city.
I’m not sure what everyone elses guilds did with their halls that made them so desirable (other than GvG), but mine never had much use.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
And the winner to my question ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Mounts-1/first#post4154286 ) is :
Capes .. yay
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

I have been in 2 guilds in my whole gw1 ‘life’, played gw1 since beta and the guilds I have been with made such good use the Guild Hall for hosting events, meeting up with alliences and bring parties for the Guild Members alone, that it made us all feel very close and loyal to the guild.
If you found a guild with a good core, and you will find the luxury of a Guild Hall, you’re settled.
GvG’s would be optional and/or for later patches (if it would even get into the game).
The capes in GW1 always brought some kind of special thing to guilds, people didn’t only see your tag, but also your Guild Logo.
Why bring a guild emblem into a game at all if there’s no way but displaying it by buying some stupid ugly guild armor that 99,8% of all players doesn’t use…
My point is, capes and guild halls can bring some sort of loyalty to the community, it would make alot of issues with people hopping from guild to guild dissappear.
They’re introducing more and more back skins to mute our cape needs, which also introduces more “clipping issues” to hypothetical capes, so I think it’s clear they already gave up
I will not give up all hope on it, if they would only LISTEN to the community.
Now I know begging for stuff to them usually brings the opposite..
For example, back in the pvp days:
Community: Please Anet, please.. balance pvp, bring rewarding pvp.
Anet: We heard you, here you have Skyhammer! Now you can abuse ranking.

This said, it’s maybe better to keep the cape begging on a low profile.. but it’s just sad to see something begged and asked for so much and so often, Anet doesn’t even take time to read and or reply to any of the posts.
Ever.
I can’t say that I care much about capes. Even in GW1 I wasn’t a real big fan of them — sort of cheesy-looking if you ask me.
However, I agree wholeheartedly about the guild halls. Similar to what someone else already mentioned, in GW1 our guild hall saw constant use as a meeting hall, rally point, hosting area for a wide array of events that we ran, plus just a general hang-out/socialization area/place to be silly with other guildies. Oh yeah, and we did some GvG too.
It is an odd, naked sorta feeling not having a guild hall now, and a big detractor from the game overall.
I too would like capes to make a return.
Guild Halls are probably already in the works – they seem to be a necessity now with the MF system where players can’t get in the same map together to do guild missions and other things.
I feel the game should have shipped with Guild Halls as a common place to meet, talk and do other social activities promotes a sense of community that I fear GW2 guilds are missing.
Still waiting for Guild Halls…
Capes would be ok, but I don’t see that happening due to clipping issues.
I want the cape, if you don’t like it, hide like head armor. Deal
