This is the first time I had an encouter with this elusive creature know as “GM”.They do exist…you just have to believe in it.

Still waiting for the day I get to take screens posing next to a GM. Since they’re the GW2 equivalent of celebrities, effectively.

I see them all the time on a daily basis. Usually it’s just ‘hey John’ when walking by them.

It’s an arenanet employee, not a GM, there’s a difference.

I had a discussion once with a GM in a other game, saying that it became pretty rare to see one of of you, it had shown some “pysical” presents which cant be denied.

He’s answer was: I am typing with you now, does this make me NOT present ?

He might be right, but still…catching one of those immortals is still a nice found.
On Europe-Servers they are more rare, i believe.

Ps.: I am jealous that you could even spot him, i shurly would have passed by not seeing him at all because of all that invis char’s around. (culling)

I’ve actually seen quite a bit of them. I know in most games seeing employees actually playing and enjoying the game on their own time is rare at best, but Anet has always been players of their own game. I’ve talked to several of them in-game too. They’re just people like you and me, which is why it pisses me off when people talk about them the way they do on these forums. They’re still just people like us. Half of you would have jumped out in traffic by now if people talked about you the way they do about Anet employees.

First one I ran into I ended up talking to for an hour and a half.
I seem to remember writing a story about it….

I also ran into a few sieging our keep.
Not so nice.

Devs do exist and play the game (surprise surprise.) I even know one of them.

Except they keep their ANET tag off because they get flooded with PMs, or they’re mistaken for GMs.

You find them mostly in PvP, apparently.

heh yea thats the Anet employee tag nothing to do with GM. Thinking on it though been a while since i ran into any of them but like others have said its nice to see them playing their own game.

Saw one during the last beta weekend before launch, in Rata Sum, a big norn going by the name of “Mike”… I think we all know who this could be.

I would’ve aimed for them atop the wall, just for the chance at a bit of bragging rights.

Sort of like how I like to aim for players wielding legendary weapons first: it’s nice to know that as bad as I am, I can still beat these “elite” guys. :P

But in 1500+ hours of play time, I have yet to see one of these mythical creatures.

I saw one too at the trading post in lions arch awhile back. Just on a whim i asked him about the loot drops sucking. He said that would make a great forum topic…..like the one that was 23 pages long…

Seen one during wintersday prancing around in LA dressed up as a reindeer, I didn’t think to take a pic tho. Since on Tarnished Coast (RP server) that happens all the time :p

Ha, going through my screenies I found 2. Think I’ve only seen the tags like a total of maybe 5 times. It’s good they play their own game, I play it…everyone should =).

I killed one of these “employees” twice in EB last night while fighting to hold SBI out of their SBI keep. Needless to say, I took him down with a lava font and some well placed AOE. Oh noooo……more nerf bats?!?
