Guild Wars 2

GW1 after 1 year release 2 expansion. we have another 3 month for GW2 1st anniversary. what will happen? expansion coming up?

i have only 1 wish. don’t make expansion like stupid plug in version. i really like the way they make GW1 expansion. new world, new class, and also. story. everything NEW. can keep the same feel of GW. also can link with the original.

i will spend the full price on this.. won’t spend half price for stupid plug in.

i like the plug in but if they give us kitten load of content if they give us something small that i would do in 1 month then i wount be buying or supporting this game

also new profesions as well i like riatualist to come back or dervish

me too. i am a fan of GW1. love it so much. specially they have different style of world feel. Asia and Middle East. and also love the ritualise and dervish so much. lol

really like dervish can transform to a god form . really want GW2 can have this kind of profession..

Gw1 was not an mmorpg it was also not trying to make an e-sports level pvp there just a great deal more flexibility with non mmorpgs and tries at true competitive pvp. Gw2 is a mmorpg and its trying to make an e-sports level pvp game. You must think about how should these new classes play into and with the existing class how should new zones drop what new items should drop from these zones and how dose this effect the TP or the games econ. As for the e-sport point of view they must make thing balanced as best as they can before adding in new classes and new weapons ability etc.. at the same time you cant just put out new maps for pvp all the time or you will run into an effect where there is no meta at all humans simply cant play games like that.

There will be expansion but they are not going to add 3+ classes to them you will see new zones but not a crazy amount of new items. Your more likely to see may be 1 class new zones that have a lot of the same items but a few new skin sets and a bit more horizontal progression. You will also see new races more likely just 1 related to the story (they will have to go back and make the new races have its own personal story though voice acting its going to be a lot of work each time they add in a new races to be playable ppl do not seem to understand this).

1 month of content is nothing small having in mind that most single player games can be completed in hours O_O

I think GW1 was doing a lot better than GW2 at that time and was in a better position to turn out expansions…

Not saying GW2 wont, but their resources are a lot more limited because of the 40%+ drop in sales last quarter.

GW1 released it’s first expansion 1 year after launch.

Nightfall was 6 months after that.

GW1 did not have 2 expansions a year after release.

I don’t think there will be a problem for it. a new expansion can have totally NEW. AS like GW1, people have the original game can travel World to World.
as GW expansion have, Unique professions skill. they still have warrior, ranger, elemental, but some of there skill will only have in expansion. also if GW2 have WvW. why in expansion can’t create another area for WvW?

yes will have a lots of work on it. doesn’t mean they can’t do it. they still can use the original as a sample. also adding new races doesn’t mean they can’t use back the original.. i am happy if they only use the original race in GW1 like ritualist and dervish.

GW1 can release the 2 expansion in 1yr. why GW2 can’t release 1?

I think Anet had more freedom back then to make GW1, these days all mmos are cash cows, so i doubt we’ll ever see such a great game made like GW1, too many what their slice of the cake so to speak…

Oh my. Guild Wars had three Campaigns (Prophesies, Factions, and Nightfall) and one expansion, Eye of the North. ArenaNet has specifically said they were not going to use the same model for releasing content as they used in Guild Wars. If, and when, we get an expansion, it won’t be in the next 4 months. They want to release content through the Living Story model, and have that pretty much mapped out until the end of the year. I, personally, don’t think we will ever see the campaign-type of model for content release in Guild Wars 2.

Second Campaign of Guild Wars (Factions) was released 1 year after launch of Prophecy, with NightFall releasing 6 months after that.

if They keep release the Living Story model, my playing time will be end soon.

my personally don’t really like the Living story. and i got all 8 professions and i got lots of dungeon token. not interest in legendary , pvp and WvW.
the only reason to keep me playing its Fotm.. once i get boring on that. i may stop playing.. i think may only las 1 or 2 month. thats sad.

No he was being correct. The OP on the other hand has yet to admit he’s wrong and just keeps on rambling as if he is correct. There is a name for people like that.

As for the living story it is fine, but it does need to be improved. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean they should do something else.

Isnt that what expansions do? Personally, i’m preferring the LS vs expansions. New content/story every month, rather than waiting 6+ months for content i’ll blow through in 3 weeks.

have you ever play the GW expansion ? i tell you its not about extending. its a whole new GW. thats why i say its good to make expansion in that way. truly if just a plug in. its not about getting or not. i will stop playing the original for sure. so disappointing!

You still haven’t acknowledged that you are wrong about 2 expansions after GW1’s first year.

MMO’s are not something you beat, but if you truly think you need to only do content once, than there is really nothing left to say to you either.

haha its funny, because i would agree with you that you can’t truly beat an MMO, but the living story is NOT REPEATABLE

its not even in the game anymore!
