I never played GW, but today is a special day for franchise fans…

Here are a couple comments that stood out for me…
“When GuildWars was still fun. Endless experimenting with new builds in pvp. Kept me busy for years”
“Guildwars is the best PvP experience i ever had.
Why no dev team do a kickstarter like Guildwars…. People want to have variety on their builds, want to think before pvping, want trinity, want to team up and organise, want to go on comms. Not those uber super easy generic matchmaking games with no trinity that is super boring after 10 games…"
I know they mentioned pvp specifically, but that tells me there was a whole lot more to professions and combat. So what suggestions could Anet add, adopt, implement… here to inspire the same feelings about professions and combat?

simply add a lot more skills
unify existing ones to a common theme (signets for example)
add comms
these three would go a long way imo.

I looked up “comms”, but I didn’t find anything. What is that?
Are there any other things besides those 3 that you liked?
GW skills required synergy to shine. True synergy, not “stacking”.

In the military, comms means communications, so maybe that is waht it meens in this case.
Now, I have to disagree with the post. I hated pvp in GW1. GW2’s pvp is much better. Why? In GW1, you’d have to wait for hours just to get a team, and there is something that I called the rank paradox. If you want to win, you must have a good team. If you want a good team, you must have high rank. If you want high rank, you must win. I only won two games, if even that, thanks to the rank paradox. How is that any fun?
Now, to answer your question, more skills and builds.

I’m not positive but I’m thinking he meant consumables. Certain high level consumables were used in the harder content.

PvP in GW1 died years before the GW2 release, so I expect you joined that party a bit late. It has been a swamp for Elitiest Trolls for years now. But it did really shine in its day, as the OP indicated.
I did and do much prefer the build system in GW1, so much more variety; but the devs seem have moved decisiely way from it; there were always real “Balance Problems” with the game as players would find unexpected combos that would produce a massively overpowered Class Build; like the SoS Rit. Also way late in the day the devs finally realized PvP and PvE are not the same game and finally started updating skills for each seperately so PvE players would not be punished for PvP exploits. Wish the Devs would remember that lesson they seem to have lost that realization in GW2.
@Claudia
I think you mixed up names in your quote.
I prefer gw2 pvp over gw1 simply because its fluid, fast and i can use a lot of cool builds
