GW1 Aniversary
I don’t think that the anniversary is a strong indicator for a discount.
At the moment, I see the Complete Collection listed for ~25€ (don’t know about US prices) and that’s a kinda good price for all 4 GW1 parts.
GW1 is quite a interesting game. The trilogy is best with the Eye of the North that connects all three. No movement during battle and no jumping. Still a great storyline and world to explore. Hope you can find it and enjoy it as much as I do.

Sounds perfect, all I need is to actually buy the game xD
I still play both (In fact, I’m logged in to Guild Wars 1 as I type this while taking a break from today’s Zaishen Vanquish).
Also, while I was at my local Frys Electronics store yesterday morning, I spotted a boxed Guild Wars: Game of the Year edition. I took a picture and sent it to the Guild Wars Facebook group I’m in. Didn’t see the price though.
Both games are very different, and both games have their strengths and weaknesses, but the franchise is still amazing. I definitely recommend getting the first game to make your experience more complete.

Start with Prophecies. They are available on Amazon. There is three stages in the game. The area called Pre. Once you leave there you level and battle your way to Lion’s Arch. The the story kicks into high gear. It is mostly European flavor. Guild Wars Factions is a more Oriental look. Nightfall is African. Eye of the North ties them all together. Still a great time. Dual classes are fun also. My favorite is Ranger/Monk. If you get the chance pick them up and run through them.
Okay so i get that the game is great, and i wasn’t doubting that, but no one answers the question… does Arena Net/NC Soft offer a discount at the game during the aniversary?…xD
The only discounts I remember for GW1 since GW2 was nearly ready for release were:
A discount a couple months before release, for people who wanted to get HoM points.
A Steam sale in late August/early September 2014.
I really doubt they will offer a discount to entice people to buy. That game is essentially abandoned and is on with minimal support or attention (I’ve read that tickets to Guild Wars 1 support can take months as there are so few people taking care of the game).
They want people to buy and play Guild Wars 2 so that’s where they will have sales. If anyone wants to buy Guild Wars 1, well that extra money for them but that’s not the game they are actively trying to get people to buy. Your best bet will be individual retailers putting it on sale to try to move it off the shelves.
ANet may give it to you.
I bought GW1 Trilogy for US$20 and GW1 Proph+EotN (I forget the name under which that combination is marketed) for US$10. I’ve seen those prices at various times at Amazon, NewEgg, Best Buy, and even once at Target.
I believe that Steam has also offered various combinations of the game at a discount.
Since I started playing GW1 in 2009, I don’t remember ever seeing NCSOFT offer a discount for the game.
I’d check your favorite retailers instead. (Make sure when buying from Amazon that it’s Amazon doing the selling — a few vendors will sell ‘used’ copies that don’t have an unused serial #.)
Ohh….this is bad news. Thanks for sharing guys
Steam is probably your best bet for a sale. But the price for the lot won’t be much. You could probably fine it for about 20-25£/$. What ever you do, don’t buy a used copy.
