Hello!

By searching forums I have found some very nice programs to make GW2 look even more beautiful than it is now. But the downside is that you are not allowed to use all those third-party programs to make it look so much better.

According to latest Steam hardware system surveys and even other sources, there aren’t really much anymore people who use XP or Vista. Also, over 90% have DirectX 10 or 11. So is there really need to support so much those who have low-end PC while there are high-end PC users who just need to use the max settings and still not getting all fun from the graphics cards and CPU.

So the question is: Is there any word really about upgrading the graphic system? They just aren’t so up-to-date as they could be. I’m fine with the current graphic system but as time goes by, it needs to be improved.

Any ArenaNet developer could give a word about this?

Still reading this? You know there is something better to be done for sure. -.-’’

Well supposedly they are working on DX11 so if that ever comes out it should look better for those that are able to run it.

Yes, I have read that too but that was also said ages ago already. I would like some new information about this just to know what they are doing with this.

That said, I would like more of ArenatNet saying something about this. :P

I would too like to have this since I have an high-end rig, but right now the priority is a bug-free game and tweaking a lot of the content.
This is not a real need, this is more of a bonus (which would not be enjoyable by everyone btw, not all people have monster computers).

They are fixing the FoV issue soon tho, so you should see a large improvement.

Aside from DX11 I’d really like a 64 bit client. I actually might say I would prefer a 64 bit client before DX11.

I think they first need to further optimize the engine to make it less CPU bound.

Only then they should think about adding eye candy.

Yes, I don’t mind if this don’t come right away but all I’m asking is to give word about this. It’s also true that not everyone has that “monster computers” but, according to my first post, atleast most are using quite high-end PC. Mine is quite good but I will buy new parts when ever a game it requires.

Fixing FoV won’t really improve anything, it just makes you see more but that’s good point too ;D

Actually I’m pretty sure you are. As long as it isn’t giving you some kind of in game advantage it is perfectly fine.

Nuuuu I prefer a CPU bound game to a GPU bound game. My I7 CPU > my ATI HD 6770
