GW2 Soundtrack No Longer on Sale
Huh, strange. That’s an excellent question.
Without a method of sale would pirating it fall under feee use?
We buy the game, all we do now is consume the content we purchased through a different median.
iTunes still have the same 5 or so they had before. ‘Fear not this night’ for example is still for sale. They never had the whole soundtrack for sale that I know of.
DirectSong had issues with the soundtrack since day 1, beginning with manufacturing issues and too many orders to fill. I’m assuming they’re a very small company and couldn’t handle the large influx of orders GW2 brought and since they were months behind on filling orders, they either pulled GW2 to fill year old orders first, or removed it entirely (or simply forgot it when they redesigned the site).
The soundtrack is only available through DirectSong because DirectSong is Jeremy Soule. If you want one now, you’ll probably have to ebay it.
Sad thing is I did ebay it and can’t find it anywhere. Overstock, Ebay, or Amazon. I checked on Reddit and had no idea there were issues with back orders. I opened a ticket so will post what I get from them. I’m hoping they just forgot when they redesigned the site.
I wish you great luck. I was the opposite of impressed with them when I ordered and got my soundtrack from them. It took twice as long as promised and the customer service responses were cut and paste, rather than actually replying to anything I wrote. I will never buy from them again, even though I love classical music and would cheerfully have become a regular customer if they’d proven a reliable source.
