GW2 Steel Series Keyboard
Not sure why you wouldn’t be able to order it. I had mine pre-ordered and got the keyboard + the mouse free. Think it was 2 weeks ago or might’ve been last week
Like there was a notify me button, so naturally i sign up, randomly get an email that says i can order it only pre-order it till 2pm eastern. I was a t work at that time.
Dont feel too bad. Its just rubber dome. Slapping the GW2 picture on it is like dressing up a little kitten with barbie clothing. Sure its prettier now, but its still a kitten .
Edit: Forum censoring went… better… than expected. I think. Ah well use your imagination.

Yes, it appears to be a rubber dome keyboard and nothing that a gamer would normally seek out. I use a steelseries (6GV/2) which has mechanical switches and the positive tactile response that most experienced gamers seek.

6gV2 doesnt have any tactile response, both regular and red are linear.
But you’re right, its what the true gamer seek, not those shoddy blue clicketiclicketies that are considered “gamer” switches

MMO requires macro more than mechanical switch. Although mechanical switch feels great, I doubt it has much advantage for gaming, except when 2 people play on the same keyboard then NKRO will matter. But then you need PS2 which means you wont have macro keys.
It’s like having a parker pen, doesn’t mean you’ll write more beautiful words.

You can macro any keyboard (or mouse) easily with applications.
Not to mention macros isnt really usefull for GW2 since it has short skill chains that are easily disrupted by enemy players.

You’re right for all that. What I want to say is…..the switch doesn’t really make you a better gamer. And a great gamer doesn’t necessarily need a mechanical keyboard. Some people even like rubber dome keyboard and hate cherry switches. Hell, 15 years ago no one knows what cherry switch is, and people were playing CS1.6 without mentioning a word about the keyboard, only the mouse.
Tl;DR It’s all personal preference and has little to no to do with gaming.
I live in the UK and won’t touch another SS keyboard. Mine failed after 7 months, and to have it checked out for a possible warranty replacement, I’d have to mail it to Denmark, their EU hub.
That’s half the price of the G6V2 in shipping cost. Much cheaper to buy a Cherry Black and fix it myself.
