Guild Wars 2

DO NOT JUDGE BY THE TITLE, please read the post and do not jump to conclusion that this is another post complaining about the differences in the two game.

I was supposed to be finishing up an essay to be turned in about 20 hours, but instead I found myself in the GW1 wiki. I don’t really know how, but I was looking around and saw this:
“Guild Wars is a CORPG, or Competitive/Cooperative Online Role Playing Game”

So that means GW2 is actually an entirely different genre…… to an extent.

I’m not really sure if this is common knowledge or not, and it’s certainly not terrifyingly exciting. I just thought I would share this. Sharing is caring.

I think, for many who played GW1, it is common knowledge. Though, there is some controversy over whether it is still considered to be a CORPG, or whether ArenaNet kind of changed their nomenclature of the game.

Either way gw2 is more like the cousin twice removed on your neighbors side in comparison to gw1.

Gw1 was GOAT.

The relationship between GW1 and GW2 could be seen as the relationship between Warcraft 3 and WoW. And just like there are people who are more interested in Warcraft 4 than in WoW, there are also people who would much rather play a new CORPG created by Anet than a MMORPG created by them.

yeah GW1 was never an MMO
