GW2 and "Voice Attack" program

Likely, the only ‘official’ statement you will receive is contained in the Sticky above.
Good luck.
I use voice attack with Elite:Dangerous and never even contemplated using it for GW2. I thought about it from the stand point of how long it would take me to say “f4” compared to just pushing the button.
Voice attack can use macros but if you had one voice command bound to one key press I feel like it should be okay unless Anet aren’t able to track it for some reason. Best for you to wait for a dev reply.
Yeah, this suggestion was for the disability thread and it’s probably a lot slower than key presses, but might be just what someone missing a few fingers needs to enjoy the game
I don’t think VA would ever give you any kind of an unfair advantage if you follow the sticky macro rules, the programs functions don’t differ that much from autohotkey, only that the input is your voice instead of another button.
Would also like to know Anets stance on this program, just in case I chop off a finger while woodworking.
It doesn’t give an advantage in any way that I can think of as long as one command equals one skill used. It’s no different than one click on the screen or one key press on the key board. Therefore this follows all the rules that devs have discussed in terms of using third party programs. I know you would like an official response for peace of mind but really this does not infringe on any feedback posted by devs regarding the issue.
ANet is never going to say a program is absolutely okay to use. Their policy is never going to be explicit — they’d never be able to cover all possible situations that would be acceptable or not, without even considering that some situations are borderline. It’s the difference between using asthma inhalers (which use steroids) and performance-enhancing steroids, i.e. some drugs are ok, some not.
If you setup voice attack to use “one command = one in-game action”, then they aren’t likely to care.
