Can we please have a decent looking dagger skin for once?
Once again people like me who don’t main a profession capable of using greatswords receive the short end of the stick with the champion weapon skins, as ele I am once again left with that sense of frustration and envy towards professions that can enjoy the new great looking GS, swords and hammers.
The only decent looking daggers in the whole game are : fractal and fusion..both RNG and account bound so can’t even buy them, this is really unfair…..

All I can say is that the aliens are taking our weapons and replacing them with Christmas decorations.

I mean… its been a long time since I haven seen anything so horrible for a game concept art,… probably since WOW’s Burning Crusade.

haha i actually thought the same exact thing, the GS look kitten but the daggers look huge and awkward. I pretty much gave up on new daggers and bought two of these for my thief…

Holy kitten it’s a joke how bad the daggers are. They both look like level 0 basic skins. It really is incinerator or bust at this point (and even that is nowhere near as polished as twilight/sunrise/juggernaut). And don’t get me started on the staff… it’s like they just extended the tsunami scepter a few feet.

Makes me laugh that the most noticeable weapon (GS) gets the most particle effects. Because we have so much trouble seeing them right?

On a side-note that dark 1-h sword is pure sex.

Yeah I got that, but we don’t know which champion? Bah…

I do agree that dagger skins need some love, but personally it all depends on opinion, I guess. This is the third update in a row (sovereign and champion, aetherized and jade) where for me the greatsword skin is the worst or one of the worse looking ones.

You’re finding greatsword skins that you like, OP? My Thief is always piling up more dagger skins than I can use on her because I find so many I like, yet rarely do I see a greatsword I really like. I think what we have here is one of those “to each his own” situations.

As crystal said there is a degree of to each his own, some people like the basic starter weapons, or skins that may as well be basic starter weapons, and thats great there are TONS of those available for you. Other people like other things, and for dagger those options DONT exist, thats the problem. Some releases have not even included a dagger skin (ie SAB), it is by far the most neglected weapon type as far as skins go, and that should be fixed

Only good dagger that isn’t rng or legendary is the arah dagger and the corrupted dagger, other daggers look like crap, same thing can be said for stafs, except fractal staff doesn’t look that good, neither does the arah staff, the bifrost looks gay, zenith staff looks decent though.
And yes, anet are favoring GS over other weapons, greatest example is number of legendary GSs, then the effects of legendary GSs, then the number of named GS, then the awesome effects of these named ones that look better than some legendaries, (I’m looking at you minstrel.)

Once again no usable mace skin

There is indeed some bias towards greatswords here, as much as most other fantasy-themed games I’ve played in my life. Its like most creators simply cannot control that child-like side of them when they are designing the content, that side that makes them fantasize about being that cool, fearsome alpha warrior, which in most people’s visualization wields a greatsword, thereby naturally marginalizing most other characters in the story that wields other weapons as secondary characters.

On the other hand, its actually kinda more challenging to design daggers than designing the other weapons, for one particular reason: they are small. Any effort that designers put in designing dagger details are just moot because from a third-person scale of PoV, all daggers are about the same shape.

I’d like a cool looking rifle for once I have yet to see anything that i like and ive been looking for a good looking rifle since launch preferably shotgun style as that’s pretty much what my engi uses even if they call it a rifle.
