Welcome to this thread, first ot all let me say that my english its average but i will try to keep it clean to address several things that in my PoV are breaking the game.
I’m the same guy that made the 600+hrs review, and mostly was positive feedback and constructive criticism, this said, I deeply care about this game, ive never felt this good playing an MMO nonetheless there are certain things that I (and several people) thinks its breaking the gameplay and ripping apart the community.
Please don’t post here about botting/hacking/Exploits this thread its meant to be clean and hear everyone’s opinions or this will be closed by a mod.
TL;DR: there is not a TL;DR in this thread instead you can ctrl+F (at least in chrome and firefox) to locate the points I will address and their current state (in my PoV).
1- Economy.
2- Communication.
3- sPvP/tPvP.
4- End Game.
5- World vs World.
5.5- World Transfer
6- Mixed direction of “grind system” [WIP]
short words
PoV = Point of View.
TP= Trading Post.
sPvP= structured player vs Player.
tPvP= tournament Player vs Player.
Dev= developer.
Mod= moderator.
MF= magic find.
MyF= mystic forge.
JP= Jumping Puzzle.
Begins here
1- Economy.
In my PoV this is mostly what is driving away people every day, in fact whenever I see someone asking for help in how to make money, most answer or at least the more accepted answer its “play the TP”.
Whenever I read that I feel bad for both the one who got that reply and the one that said that, the problem about current state of economy in gw2 its that one of the “best way” to acquire gold its staying 24/7 refreshing the TP and playing the market, I can assure (or at least I hope) this was never intended by the dev team, I mean look at how HUGE it’s the world it encourages exploring, finding hidden jumping puzzles, killing mobs in order to gain better experience, its incredible, nonetheless we get people to encourages other people to stay put in one place watching the TP (or running 3rd party programs) in order to get gold, and they are not trolling, indeed it works, but its this how game was intended to be played?
Ive been thinking and don’t get me wrong but what it comes to my mind it’s a silly game I played years ago called “Runescape” ok!, put down your pitchforks and let me explain, that games had something called “Grand Exchange”.
Extracted from RS wikia:
Prices are partly governed by the Laws of Supply and Demand:
? If an item is in high demand with low supply, then its price will increase.
? If an item is in low demand with high supply, then its price will decrease.
? If an item’s demand matches its supply, then its price will stay the same.
? Jagex has never published the Grand Exchange’s exact pricing algorithms, although there are some reasonable guesses. By using the laws of supply and demand, the prices of items are updated depending on its recently traded prices and volume. For items with low volume such as partyhats, their prices update every few days or even once a week. Jagex can also intervene and set the prices themselves, and they reserve the right to intervene when they believe price manipulation is occurring on an inexcusable scale.
? Because of an update on 1 February 2011, there are no longer trade restrictions, however there are guide prices and buttons to increase or decrease your offer on the item by 5%, as well as set a custom offer.
As you can see there was a trade restriction, but what can we learn about that, jagex somewhat did that in order to stop market manipulation and scams in-game if we take this by example and make It better.
Why not an steady range of price for example globs of ecto plasm.
Let’s say they are in a range price of 18s to 24s
If I try to buy the 18s ectoplasm I will be in a Queue to be a buyer but if I go let’s say for the 22s ectoplasm I will be in a Queue as well but lower.

2- Communication.
There is a severe lack of communication between the Mods, Devs and the community itself rarely we get a red response and when we get it its very impersonal and brief making us feel alienated or secluded.
I know that internet can make people ugly and mean but we got some (and I dare to say the majority) people here that would really love to interact with your team and know what’s going on about the game, about content and feedback, we got here intelligent people with awesome skills in math (im not one of them) who are sick of theory crafting and why not share some knowledge?.
Your motto (along the lines) its “grow with the community” but where are you reds?
In a MINOR scale I know that interacting with a majority of people can be mind numbing as a guild leader with less than 30 people I sometimes want to run away and play the game without being asked about silly things but I can’t do that, it’s my job to let my guild know how it’s going to be directed and get some feedback along the way.
I will take for example something that happened not long ago.
The Magic Find and chest drop, that was the most amazing red response I’ve seen so far, it was hearth warming and refreshing, since that response I’ve seen less and less complaints about people running full MF for dungeons, less conspiracy theories and less theory crafters about best percentage of MF for chest.
What can we learn about that?
Communication its they key to gain your community trust and their hearts I won’t say the game but I come from a community where reds taunts and play with their community we have our beloved, our hated and our nerf master.
Give us people to love, to hate and laugh but give us personality not pre-generated brief responses.
3- sPvP/tPvP.
I can’t address the points better than this guy, here is the source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvXDv70-6Gg&feature=youtu.be
Its a bit of a rant video nonetheless we can learn about it and grow, I think the competitive scene wont be seen in a long time until more and more people get what they want in PvE but for the hardcore and competitive e-sport scenario its very discouraging.

4- End Game.
I know the game its new and this wont be about Orr farming and Legendaries.
Its about something that this game its mostly about “looks”, I love the concept of this game, and the reason I mostly play its to make my toon look better , give them personality just by looking at them, but I think there is a very discouraging range of looks in this game.
Heavy armors are all bulky and mostly dull looking when I started doing dungeons my first one was CoF I didn’t like how it looked BUT! The flame indeed was a nice touch, then I went with AC and when I got my chest plate I couldn’t wait until it was night, then…
nothing happened and I understood that the only dungeon armor that really have a theme its CoF that is indeed very discouraging, when a game isn’t about stats but looks I still had to “farm” the dungeon for the stats I wanted but literally didn’t have something else that drove me with a mindset of “ I WANT THAT ARMOR”.
At the end I was going for stats not looks same its with medium armor, every medium armor it’s a rehashed look of the next one and its very discouraging in game to go for stats mostly because every set looks like the same.
The other problem its that some “skins” are yet to be discovered in the MyF but (see point 2) miscommunication at its best, most people don’t want to gather an absurd amount of matts just to see how it looks like the weapon to be discovered.
Possible solution: major overhaul in the skin system, and focusing in new skins, don’t get me wrong this doesn’t mean you should release a dungeon every week for new skins, just making them better looking and unique from each other, give us a wide variety to like or hate some skins.
We got people here that are conservative and don’t like skimpy armor and we got some people that like them, make the world richer and some diversity with it.
5- World vs World.
World vs World needs some serious tweeks most people have commented in switching the outmanned buff for the orb of power buff and that I think it’s a great idea, it encourages people for some sick gameplay instead of.
“Well we are losing for about 120 points, meh lets go to PvE and wait for week to end”
It stops camp spawn wich I didn’t enjoy by the way, I couldn’t even get 4 feets from borderland and it encourages people to keep playing and succeeding.
5.5- World Transfer
Yesterday I experienced something really bad, there was this guy in the JP wich clearly its from a guild from another server (since no one from the enemies attacked him and he had the same guild tag of the enemies) spying people in JP even one of them got mixed in /m that was intended to be in /g revealing location of zergs and what our commander was planning to do.
I don’t say this doesn’t happen in my server but im pretty sure it happens to, but its clearly cheating and griefing.
Solution: incoming 7days world transfer wich I think its amazing
Solution number2: give us the feature to report for griefing

Number 6 [WIP] but i think its enough for now.
feedback and constructive criticism and toughts are welcomed.
(edited by Denial Of Service.5732)
Very well thought out and presented case on each point. My only slight disagreement is gaining $$$ and I’m not convinced that playing the market is the only way. Just playing normally killing and doing Orr zergs at 80 brings me in about 2 gold per hour – with a longer-term outlook that is plenty to fund whatever except perhaps Legendary Weapon.
@ Video- In terms of competitiveness…. that’s exactly what has happened to ‘Gunz: The Duel’; the game’s PVP wiped due to having blown game features driving players away & then never been able to recover from it (and then, having only that small population of hardcore players who are actually benefiting from these features playing the competitive PVP matches).

all your points are right at the spot.What i don’t agree with you only is that TP is not the only way to make gold.Yes it can give you the biggest income but i never play with it.
My experience shows that Dungeons and Orr are very good source for gold.I have a group which farms dungeons and my income from there is very stable.
So we have 3 ways to farm good amounts of gold:
1.playing with TP
2.Dungeons(with decent group)
3.Farming Orr
All other points that you made i agree with them on 100%
