So anet was creating this game for casuals but they didnt realize that mmorpg genre has changed the casual gamer over the years.
What does casual player do in mmos these days? He farms he grinds he tries to max hes pvp gear so he can have some chance on killing someone in pvp.
What does hardcore player do? He meets the requirement and then clears the hard content, problem is that most of time to meet this requirement you gotta farm and grind. In pvp hardcore player just goes around defeating everyone.
I see people grinding full dungeon sets in few days and then whining… I did set a rule for myself – one piece per dungeon, cause doing same content aint even hard after so many runs, and why the hell i would want full set of gear? Just to look like everyone else? NO! I get different pieces and then use my taste of style to combine them in something cool.
In pvp i just go around smashing faces like any other hardcore player does.
Casual player has no idea what to do in mmo beside grinding more gear.
Just so you understand that im not just yapping here i added picture of me being hardcore in Lions Arch.

People realy need to stop using that term..casual. Theres nothing correct about it. You either invest in playing a game as you see fit with the time you have or dont. Thats real life right there. And these so called hardcore gamers are nothing more then a casual gamer with actual time spent. Only thing thats different is the hardcore dummie is more willing to spend money to get the advantage. Thus is how you get dumb topics like this. “casual” this “hardcore” that nonsense.

Gw2 IS for casuals, and THAT’S why some are quitting.

I was going to correct your usage of the word casual and explain how casual just means they play less and don’t take it as seriously, but it’s hard to argue with an angry asura on a big red couch.
