GW2 is the best PVE MMORPG to date
its the best mmorpg, period love the PvP too, WwW is simply amazing since the update (except for waiting to get in). love the sPvP too, it just needs a few more tweaks.
And it will be for a long time. The monthly updates are brilliant, unrivalled by any other mmo (well any other game) and they get better every month. The bar is really set high and keeps getting higher
I like the dungeons in DDO much better.
I do like the open world PvE in this game however. Very well done.
I would say don’t worry about PVP anymore than you already have, which is virtually none. This topic is made in small part out of spite since I’m a PVPer but at the same time it’s the honest to god truth. This is the best PVE game there is and probably will be for a long while.
Leave PVP to Wildstar, SMITE, and possibly TESO.
definitely the easiest PVE MMO there is.. but, for me, that doesnt make it the “best”. the game lacks any thrill or danger. Everything is so easy. There is no tension during a boss fight.. youre not worried about “if” you will defeat the boss; youre just worried about how much loot will be in the chest. I dont feel a sense of accomplishment… more like a sense of endurance for keeping up with the many currency grinds. gold, laurels, tokens, karma…
the game is fine i guess.. but when i play i feel like im taking part in a grocery store shopping spree rather than a fantasy role playing game.
I have to disagree, for me MapleStory, though not traditional MMO is the best PvE MMO. I would say that GW2 is the second best PvP and PvE, second to Runescape for PvP.

The best pve mmo in my opinion was finalfantasy XI. Was the only mmo that stayed true to the party system along with exploration. Other than the original EQ. Newer age mmos are too casual. They feel like a normal game, which is pretty lame. MMO’s used to be about the experience. Its a shame that I can’t appreciate guildwars 2 as much as i want to. The casual side of it outweighs the hardcore side of it. I really do enjoy the game. It just doesn’t give me any experience. Just feels like another mmo to me. Maybe with more updates or even expansions. I would assume it would get better. But who really knows. It’s up to anet. Keep it casual? or actually make it so skill applies to the gameplay? That is literally my biggest turnoff other than waypoints.

I liked City of Heroes better, but I can hardly go back now can I?
Been playing MMO’s for over 16 years. GW2 the best? Ummmmm….no.
Best easy-mode, casual, beautiful and confusing vision/direction….yes.

Do you mean killing a bunch of zombies for half an hour? No thx.
Arah story mode was boring enough
Well,it is the best MMO for people that don’t like MMOs.
lose a pip,win 2 pips,lose a pip,lose a pip…………..-

And this is why GW2 did not live up to the hype.
I have to disagree, the best PvE MMO was WoW Classic and BC (pre Sunwell nerf).
Occam Pi (Ele), Acaena Elongata (Warrior), Finja Salversdotir (Ranger),
Bytestream (Engineer), Vim Whitespace (Thief)
EverQuest 1.
Classic, Kunark and Velious (mayyyybe through Planes of Power, but even that is diluting it a little). I’m talking 1999 through 2001.
If you didn’t experience it, I feel sorry for you.
