Guild Wars 2

I so want to log in tonight and give fractals another try but I feel they will still be bugged and disconnect-y…and I really dont want to read map chat looking for group of fractal +5…and this will just keep getting worse with no fractal level reset.

Pushing me to other MMOs, namely WoW, hell I might even look at SWTOR since its free 2 play now…finish up my stories there. Thats how bad this game has gone in the last 7 days.

I urge you not to play SWTOR, you have no idea what you are in for with that game. I hope you like touching ‘X’ glowing panels and hearing NPCs monologue at you for hours.

Stick around. Once they implement the dungeon finder, the game will be just like WoW. Sure, it will take awhile to smooth out of the grind, but they’ll get there eventually. No need to go to another MMO.

Ive played the game, I know what Id be getting into

Guild Wars 2 has gone straight downhill in a few days for me, its so sad. Such high hopes, but yet heres another developer on their high horse thinking they know whats better than a 10,000 post thread telling them they dont like the new changes in this weekend’s patch. I am insulted that we only received one response to it.

Then the patch hits, fractals are amazing, I like the new zone…but its buggy as hell. And the fractal level system is just going to promote elitism, and eventually low lvl fractal groups will be hard to find. I dont have the time to grind out fractals to keep up with the rest of the crowd.

All of this pushes me to another game.

swtor has insane amount of restrictions for the f2p so research it. Btw its not a bad game but just sucks with the global cooldowns for using hotkeys. Cant even spam all your buttons when you want…global CD sucks. Basicaly swtor is going to nickle/dime you to push for sub.

Wow isnt any better then this game but when it comes to gear its supper simple to get and striaght forward. Loved crafting on that game. Unlike this game crafting is pointless and insane on the amount of mats it takes to even make somthing worth using.

WoW’s gear grind/treadmill is a lot better than Guild War’s gear treadmill. It wont take 300 runs of a dungeon for one piece of top tier gear(ascended).

I can gear myself up quickly enough to raid if I wanted to.

The new dungeons are pretty good, I tried them the other night.

Challenge modes look really neat.

i wasnt knocking swotr or wow..just saying getting gear is simple and the way i feel it should be in a rpg like game.

ID probably play wow again if i didnt trash all my cds. Dont see a point in buying them all over again lol. And i refuse to play swtor..just cant handle that global cooldown. Makes trying to have a rotation in pvp super hard.

I have no objections against playing WoW, but i can tell you that don’t touch swtor f2p UNLESS you wanna see through story. It’s very restricted without paying but good for playing the story.

But also i’d urge you not to give up on gw2 yet. Maybe take a break and come back in few months.

I’d much rather do dailies than grind an uninteresting dungeon for hours and hours for “Exotic” gear that will be outdated in a few months.

With there millions of players, massive profit through their subscription fee – not to mention micro transactions from race changes / faction changes – and their reputation as the most successful MMO in existence.

GW2 is going the way of gear grinding with absurd mats for ascended and legendary items.

Unfortunately for this game, WoW does gear grinds better. I don’t know why there was a sudden rush to beat Blizzard at their own game. It’s obviously not working.

Just take a break and play whatever.

Believe me, after just a few hours playing other MMOs, you’ll be back to GW2.

Yeh i guess those millions they are still making every month have got them worried about GW2.

Not to mention Elder Scrolls online is taking what GW2 has done and is making it Better. Including better technology and DX 11 support out of the box.

The only problem with WoW’s version of the gear treadmill (which is highly polished, in most respects) is the looting system it’s attached to. Bring in a proper everyone-gets-their-own-loot system (like City of Heroes or here) and it’d remove most of my objections. (however, the gear treadmill in GW is completely against the game’s spirit, and therefore unacceptable, much as it was for City of Heroes [which started its freefall])

Unfortunately I have. I thought it was going to bring back the RPG elements with a ‘deep story’ like they advertized. Instead we get a racial personal story, an order personal story, and freaking Trefern’s emo insecurities and credit-stealing. The whole thing felt more like a choose your own adventure book.

That’s the main reason I’m considering going back to Eve Online. I know what I’ll be getting into. I know what CCPs vision for it is.

I have to say, the more I play gw2 the more i just want to go back to wow and not deal with all the mechanics gw2 has against players having ‘fun’.
