Replace the D3 stuff of the following link with the appropriate GW2 references, and make a GW2 version of this article on this thread. Let’s see who can make the best GW2 rendition of:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5889888966

That pretty much sums up the direction GW2 is heading, especially with the introduction of Ascended gear, which has better stats than slotted/jeweled exotics, PLUS an infusion slot on top of it.

I disagree. Even though I am totally against this looming gear tread mill being forcibly imposed, I do not agree with your weak premise.

Up until now I have enjoyed this game without needing anything from the BLTC. Now recently I did buy Gem Cards, but I only did so for cosmetics and a bank expansion, and I didn’t need any of that, just something I chose to get.

Unlike D3 where in order to succeed you had to use the GAH/RMAH, you do not have to do so in GW2.

Hey dude you are walking into a wall.

smack..Wut?…smack…smack…

I whole heartedly agree. As a matter of fact, when I first read the article on ascended gear, I though of D3 immediately

Uhm, no ascended gear no resistence to Agony, no content progression……..Gear grind or BLTC

Either grind like mad, 10+ hours a day every day for miniscule drop rates or open your wallet and buy it all from the AH (TP).

Hmm, I wonder which is easier.

Worked in D3 so I guess it works here too.

I’m not sure that that post can be applicable to GW2.

But I thoroughly enjoyed that post – if only complaints were hidden under such clever sarcasm in this forum. At least they would be entertaining.

We only have evidence of a gear treadmill.

We don’t have evidence that said gear treadmill will be fueled by real money.

When I see level 80 exotics with worse stats than level 50 blues I might start to believe you.
