Q:
GWAMM Title gone?

A:
Just a note that the bug originally reported in this thread was a momentary glitch and GWAMM titles are not randomly disappearing. I can’t account for the strange in-game mail that you received, DoctorDing, but I’ll ask around in case that’s a problem. The main point is, the title is intact and you’re good to go.
I’m going to leave the thread open for discussion of the title, no problem with that at all. I will make sure this notes shows up near the top, though, so everyone knows there’s not an issue with the title.
Oh, and for everyone: If an issue with an earned title does arise, a ticket to CS would be a good idea if it doesn’t resolve itself relatively quickly, as it did for the OP.

It happened to me too so probably a bug.
I got that mail during the beta, when they cloned our accounts. Not sure if it’s a glitch in the system or what precisely. Did you verify whether the title is still in your list or not?
It’s gone from the list. I’ll give it a few builds to see if it comes back then put a ticket in.
Did you try relogging?
That’s an old bug that pops up now and again. You usually can fix it by switching characters. If that doesn’t work, you can log out here, logon to Guild Wars 1, go to the HoM and speak to the NPC there (Kimmes) and switch between account wide and character. Then log back on to this game.
But switching chars in this game normally does the trick.
ANet may give it to you.

Yep, panic over. Logged out, patched with the new build and it’s back, along with some hundreds of APs. Gotta love software land.
I’m just starting with GW1 and would like to get this title at some point, but I’m not seeing it in the HoM achievements in GW2 anymore. Am I missing something? I don’t necessarily want to spend hours on getting the title, if I can’t then have it in GW2… Does anyone know if this is just the same bug, or was it removed?

What do you mean you don’t see it in the HoM achievements in Guild Wars 2? Where exactly are you now not seeing it?
Edit: if you’re talking about the titles listed on the Hall of Monuments achievement points on the UI, those for for getting up to 50 points in the HoM. The GWAMM title is a Guild Wars 1 title from a different title track that was ported over as a courtesy to Guild Wars 1 players who got that title. So, you’ll have to earn the GWAMM title while on the path to earning the HoM titles (which is how it’s commonly earned).
ANet may give it to you.

good luck
Yep, GWAMM is certainly not quick to get and is not for the faint-hearted. I see posts on here complaining about GW2 “grind” and reflect on some of those GW1 GWAMM tasks. Cartographer anyone?
Getting GWAMM now will take you years. Is it really worth it? Actually, I’m not even sure if it is possible. You need 50 unclaimed minis and some of them cannot be earned anymore. I suggest you just go through the story, get some HoM rewards and when You stop having fun there, come back.

GWAMM is maxing 30 titles in game, nothing to do with dedicating minis in the HoM. You’d only need to do that if you were working on HoM points for the ‘Champion of the Gods’ title (50/50 points). It’s possible to purchase a lot of minis from other players from birthday presents and that’s a pool of over 50 minis to choose from (70 in total from years 1-5 birthday gifts) before you look at ones like mini Dhuum (UW chest) or Black Moa Chick (scavenger hunt). It’d take longer due to a smaller playerbase, but it’s definitely possible, as is GWAMM.

Oh gosh… I remember trying to do Cartographer without texmod. I got most of it, but some of those tiny obscure corners, UGH!
And begging people to join JQ so I could map that arena. Such a headache.
I can imagine Legendary Guardian is just fun now. (sarcasm)

Yah. The other main alternative for nonPvPers was to get into real PvP matches and then run around ignoring the match in order to map it. UGH.
As for PvE cartography, I remember reading up on the various ways to glitch past portals in order to get the tiny amount of area between two portals. The one I loved to hate was the one where you and your Heroes were all ranger secondaries and you used a skill to port the pets in sequence past each other till one got past the portal. Then used another skill to pull yourself to the furtherest pet to glitch past the portal opening. It was a finicky, time consuming procedure, that usually failed and you had to start over from the beginning. Another UGH.

This happened to me a few months back – think in November. Just log onto GW1 (didnt’ have to go to the HoM or anything) and then back onto GW2 fixed it.

It’s hidden in the GW2 achievements until you obtain it, unlike the HoM stuff. GWAMM isn’t strictly HoM but by the time you get GWAMM you’d have likely gotten 50/50 in the HoM.
And GWAMM will require hours. It requires maxing 30 titles, and even maxing one will require hours. Maxing 30 will take weeks even with a strict guide and aid.

Miniatures is easy to get, I don’t know where you get that they “cannot be earned anymore” since most miniatures come from birthdays and from the 8th birthday on you can get a present from any previous birthdays. Even then, there’s a good number offered from festivals and the game itself.
But as said, GWAMM Is unrelated to furthering HoM points. It’s getting 30 titles maxed in GW1 which is completely solo’able. Even 50 HoM points (which requires miniatures) is possible solo today.

The funny thing is that it’s now Fort Asepnwood you need to beg people to join in order to map.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I know! And it’s completely saddening. I love FA. Was always fun holding a door (even post turtle disenchantment) and listening to people rage.

- It won’t take years.
- There are over 70 miniatures from birthdays alone; there are 59 common & uncommon minis — it’s fairly easy to buy enough to get 50.
That said, it won’t be easy and it won’t be quick and so I don’t recommend it unless you really like GW1 and want to spend a lot of time there. If GW1 is your cup of tea, then the time spent there working on GWAMM will be its own reward.
For anyone who decides to go for GWAMM, I recommend starting with the GW1 wiki’s guide to gaining HoM points — you can get HoM/30 or even /50 without GWAMM (and vice versa), but it’s much easier if you do them in tandem (plus you get HoM rewards in this game, too).

There are still a lot of minis available. There are the 6 years of birthday minis at the very minimum and that’s more than 10 different ones each year, plus the one craftable unique mini. At year 8+ you get a birthday voucher that lets you select what birthday you want the mini to come from.
I have way too many chars in Guild Wars 1, far more than in this game and each year each one has a birthday. I, and others, routinely give them away to people who get on this forum and ask for any spare minis.
