All I want for Christmas this year is for Gaile Gray to be promoted to Game Director. As someone who loves this game, I think this is the best suggestion MO will ever hear. Allow me to list the pros and cons of this request.

Pros

• Communicates with players. Gaile has a long track record of knowing the pulse of the community. She is trusted by the players. This trait is sorely needed in today’s MMO world.
• Loyalty to GW2. Frog approved. No one has been around longer, save for MO himself.
• Let’s MO have more time to run Anet.
• Intelligent. She knows what works and what doesn’t.
• Mistress of Hype. Inheriting the Hype Train from Colin is no small task. Gaile would be up for the job.

Cons

• None. Just promote her already.

Gaile is a brilliant member of ArenaNet and is really down to earth (or Tyria) in keeping us informed on the happenings of things. She’s great for public relations, I hope we never see the news of her leaving ArenaNet.

If she becomes game director, she would have no time to communicate with players.

That’s a con you can list :p

I think Mike is doing a bang-up job. No one knows the game as he does. No need to move Gaile from a job she does well. I’m sure she is appreciated where she is by many.

The fault people always make is to say “promote this, promote that” without even thinking what the role means.

Gaile as game director? Sure, but does Gaile want that kind of role. It could mean completely different and new tasks she’s not used to, or not trained for, or for all we know she could be great.

Think a bit further on that please.

For all I know Gaile might be qualified to be the game director, but not because of the reasons you gave.

not really some of us already got our torches and pitchforks ready to go for that one

the real question there who will get there paws on him first us or them . wayne my bet

a very nice window view and small pay raise i be all for that i think

she has earned it . as for the rest of it tho we would have to see her doing coding .and

so forth and see her come up with a nice event or two .or a well done out addition to the

game something like adding directX 11 or thereabouts which is not that hard to do at

all really
