Game Feels Too Empty
I think that Guild Wars 2 should slim down the amount of worlds available and increase the max limit of the worlds. You know there’s a problem when you make a sylvari and literally nobody is to be found in the sylvari biome base.
This is likely just your time zone or the time in which you play – worlds no longer have an effect on players in your map since anet introduced the “Mega Servers”
Maps are now filled with players from many world servers
No idea what you’re talking about. I always see people in the Sylvari starting zone.

Seriously? When did they incorporate mega servers?
well, the leveling phase of most themepark game really felt like a single player game to me. That’s just the way it is.
I personally actually hate having too much people around because there are lesser monster to kill for doing renown heart etc. Obviously there are also times where I need to kill a champ and hope there are people around…
And GW2 is actually one of the games I actually see people around during leveling. Because of the mega server.
Oh this game will become more empty as time passes by trust me. Its called depreciation, the more time goes by the less value this game will become, it happens to all games and MMO’s. A lot of MMO’s homecities are empty. Take a look at Everquest, a game that just released its 21st expansion last month, most if not all the homecities in that game appear empty.
What happens is, everyone migrates to a central spot, for example in Everquest its the guild lobby and in GW2 its Lion’s Arch. I predict that Divinity’s Reach will last for a good while but the other homecities will not fair as well.
Also, you will notice that zones 15-70 will appear empty as well. Nothing to do with game, its just majority of people have reached end game or making a new toon.
The groove is always quite empty. Most people hang at lion’s arch or divinity reach.

I was playing in queensdale today and there were people everywhere. After a half hour or so I got the change instance request. I could only imagine the other instance(s) being loaded with people if I was on one that felt very populated and was still being closed that quickly. I’m not entirely sure how the megaservers work, but it leads me to believe that even the starter zones have a bunch of people playing.
Maybe you were in a low populated instance or playing at an odd hour.

I seem to play a different version of GW2. In the last weeks I visited each map in GW2 open world (due to map completion) and every map was quite populated. I play in the early morning and the late afternoon, EU data server.
Which world you are on does not matter (much) because of megaservers.

I see lots of people in the Grove (30-40). Typically around Reckoner’s WP (TP/bank area). My usual play times are primetime : 8-10pm EST on Fort Aspenwood.
LA definitely has more people in general. Always has (except when Scarlet was actively attacking it of course)
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
If anything, the maps and events are heavily overpopulated.

Global trading, aka, the Grand Exchange in Runescape killed Runescape. I think global trading centers destroy video games. I enjoy running around and bartering the price of 10000 cow hides face to face with someone. It’s part of the game that just gets worked around when they incorporate a global trading system. Where’s my community???
I really, really, really, really hate doing that. It also makes for a worse economy.
