Game Lore Does Not Fit Game Content...
So humans are supposed to be a dying race.
Yet somehow everytime I form a group for a dungeon…
Majority of the group is human… one or two non human.According this census…
http://gw2census.com/charts.php?pie=pvporpve-PvE÷=charrace
Humans are the majority race.
Whats up with that?I think Gw2 is the only MMORPG ive been on where you have a plethora of races to choose from and humans make the majority.
-_______-
They’re breeding like rabbits and eventually will starve themselves. While it is feasible that the Colleges may reconcile their differences with the Inquest and the followers of the Spirits of the Wild with the Svanir, the bandits and separatists are symptomatic of the coming collapse and a decent into barbarism is inevitable.
Man loathes the centaur, for in them they see their future.
Actually the human race has been dying out. In GW1 they populated just about every corner of the map and had three (well they had JUST lost one) major nations. Now they only really inhabit Kryta, have only one nation, and only 1 major city. I’d say that is a huge decline.
As for the game of players, that can easily be explained in lore as they have more adventurers than most other races because they are natural explorers. Doesn’t mean the population as a whole is bigger, just the ratio of how many choose an adventurer’s life.

That works I guess.
We’ve also lost Elona it seems.
I think you’re forgetting Elona and Cantha…
I think you’re forgetting Elona and Cantha…
Elona is lost to Palawa Joko and Kralkratorik
Cantha has shut its harbours to non Canthans.
Palawa Joko is so much cooler than the dragons. I hope we get to fight him some day.
It would be cool if he became a bigger threat than the dragons as well. And humans helped bring him back into the world, all for the ability to ride around in a worm’s stomach.

PCs =/= Tyria’s population
PCs do, however, = the heroes fighting the dragons.
So the lore is in tact, from the standpoint that humanity occupies a lot less of the world and is a lot less dominant.
The more interesting thing is why the vast majority of heroes who have chosen to fight the dragons seem to be human…
As far as humans being the most popular player race, it’s that way in every single game.
If I’ve learned anything from my time playing MMOs, it is always this.
Never base the lore off the players. Always look at the game itself as a whole, but exclude the players themselves.
Cause if you start looking at players, the lore goes out the window instantly. Cause there is no where in the lore that states xX_Fluffy Biscuit_Xx defeated Jormag, decked out in hot pink and a Quaggan backpack while weilding a shortbow that fired off rainbow unicorn ponies.
Thus, never look at players as a sign of lore.
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
The Tyrian human population is getting better.
Compare the beginning of the game (Corruption, Centaurs at the door of DR) to after level 40 + (Corruption dealt with, centaurs pushed back to their homeland, with their warlords killed) .
I have to agree with the OP and I think I have found the problem. The lore enforcement software module that assigns each new character a race and gender is broken. It seems completely non-functional and is allowing players to choose the race/gender of their new characters!
charr is for furry people
asuras for reddit and 9gag
sylvari for green communists
that leaves me with big kitten or even bigger kitten /p>
I am not going to hesitate
but proceed to pick Norn master race
I haven’t been able to find this scene on YouTube, so this quote will have to do:
Anya: There was this other apocalypse this one time. And, well, I took off. But this time, I don’t… I don’t know.
Andrew: Well, what’s different?
Anya: Well, I guess I was kinda new to being around humans before. And now I’ve seen a lot more, gotten to know people, seen what they’re capable of and I guess I just realize how amazingly… screwed up they all are. I mean, really, really screwed up in a monumental fashion.
Andrew: Oh.
Anya: And they have no purpose that unites them, so they just drift around, blundering through life until they die. Which they-they know is coming, yet every single one of them is surprised when it happens to them. They’re incapable of thinking about what they want beyond the moment. They kill each other, which is clearly insane, and yet, here’s the thing. When it’s something that really matters, they fight. I mean, they’re lame morons for fighting. But they do. They never… They never quit. And so I guess I will keep fighting, too.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer End of Days (7.21)
Kyxha 80 Ranger, Sokar 80 Necro
Niobe 80 Guardian, Symbaoe 45 Ele
Quaggans will soon be the master race
Its because over the years we’ve learned to hate the Charr
PCs =/= Tyria’s population
PCs do, however, = the poor schmucks that have to do the dirty work of the asparagus that’s too busy jabbering blandly to fight the dragons
there, fixed that for you
Asurans will soon be the master race
Fixed for realism..
sylvari for Green Supremacist
Fixed for truth.
