Soo, if your game is sending you back to character select for no reason, theres a code in the game that will crash the map for anyone who reads it. I tested it and confirmed, it does instantly crash everyone in the same map as you as well as yourself.
This needs to be patched RIGHT NOW for everyone, think of the chaos that would happen to WvWvW, the code was already given to NSP in map chat.

It is true, I’d give out the code if you know, it didn’t crash the game..

Tested by me and my guildies, crashed them whatever they posted it in, guild chat crashed our guild, /say just crashed them, whisper crashed them and another person.

I’d post it in bug reports but this needs traction, it instantly crashes EVERYONE who happens to have the chat where its posted enabled.

If this is true, someone in Yak’s Bend LA is posting it constantly. It is making it impossible to do anything.

It’s also kicking me out of the forums it seems…….and yes trolls are having a barrel of laughs with this.

Proof, in the best way I can give you.

Just happened to me in SPvP.

I do not know what is causing it but I have had the exact same thing happen to me 6 time. It also causes me to “roll back” to where the character was when I logged in. I was doing bank maintenance and switching characters and I would remove things from the bank, get booted back to character select and when I logged back in, the items were back in the bank and the items I sold were back in my inventory.

It was happening in Lions Arch on Tarnished Coast. I finally was able to get my sales and such done by turning off map chat. I have no idea what is causing it but it did happen to me and quite a few other people in the bank because we all started discussing it after it happened for the third time in 10 minutes.

The ban was likely for the actual map crashes you did prior to the whispers.

Poor phrasing. I’m not stupid enough to post it in map chat, but I can assure you once that code was leaked everyone was testing it out.

I seen a lot of others in overflow talking about this. We all crashed to character screen during Teq. Don’t know if this is legit or not, but If it is. please fix asap. Do not post codes here for those who know it. And I would stop “testing” if I were you guys.

Game just patched so it should be fixed now.

people have only just found this? jeeze old news i found it months ago and reported to anet with ingame ticket… they failed to fix it

From what I’ve heard, if you just used the code once, you didn’t get banned. Only people who did it repeatedly, and it seems like the more you used it the longer the ban.

Guildie said he got banned for the same 2 weeks even though he said he posted it once.

I posted it 3 times, one to myself, one to a guildie and the other time got trolled.

So, is it fixed now?
