Hopefully you guys have thought of this. But playing PvP with my thief gave me the idea. I was thinking it would be great to be able to use 2 elite specializations at the same time. And that each class would be able to use 2 of them. And that somehow later on you would make mastery points to be able to use 2 elite specials at the same time. Or something equivalent. But I thought it would be awesome to do that. And that it would make a lot of choices and combinations for a character build. And that later on you would add another slot into the build in every class.

What I meant by adding another slot. Is there are 3 slots in every character. For example in theif you would have acrobatics. Trickery. And Daredevil. But later on when adding 2 elite specialization we could have 4 slots and add the new specialization. It would be nice to have that to unlock with mastery points. Like the beginning of hot you guys made gliding. But to unlock it we had to have mastery points. I think you should do that way to unlock it. Or some sort of other way that is equivalent. But hopefully you guys implement it. And hopefully you read this.

Shouldn’t happen imo. HoT not even required to play PoF, so only those who own both expansion can have 4 Specialization, and that means a massive powercreep gated by a paywall.

That’s not really a paywall. Cause even if you don’t pay later on if you do it right you can buy the game with gold exchange. And the people who don’t have hot and POF barely play. They log in and later down the road they will play again. It’s no different then wow. Or eso. Or FFXIv. The features are the same. If you don’t have that version you don’t have those features. Every other game also has the cost if your not up to date you would lack features. But I don’t think it would be a big feature that the people who don’t have hot. Or POF Would be a gap with power. For PvP and wvw. You get everything in the class. So what if they did that too if they didn’t have it? Just let you use only in PvP and wvw. But pve, dungeons and raids u have to unlock? IDK I just thought it would be awesome. Maybe if they adjust it somehow.

ANet designed the system to only allow 1 elite spec at a time for two major reasons.
1. To avoid power creep. Getting the strongest skills and traits from two elite specs at the same time could potentially generate too much power.
2. To include mechanics in the elite specs, that would be incompatible with each other. Just look at the necromancer for example. One elite spec changes the death shroud, the other one replaces it. Reaper and Scourge would be incompatible.

Hmmmm that is true. It would be odd for druid and soulbeast to be together also. Maybe it would be in the future. So later they could change the elite specializations when they are combined, to work together instead of them having an odd compatibility?

Third reason is that balance is elite vs elite vs base rather than elite/elite vs elite/elite vs base. Makes life slightly easier for everyone.

Like say. Reaper and scourge together. Skills change a little. You can take the life out of opponents and while doing that give life to allies? But owell I just thought it was a good idea. Didn’t think it would make a drastic thing for power XD.

What you guys think should be added? Do you think housing would be nice as a feature? Or no?

Personally housing is not anywhere near my top 100 things to add/modify in this game.

Added? That is up to the developers, they are constantly adding things, not all are wanted by me but a very, very steady stream since the dry spell before and after HoT.
Modified, underwater is high on my list. Everything from skills available to adding more complex areas and bosses.
A clearer idea of what they want out of guilds, I have private guilds that are 27 and 31 but others don’t and don’t understand what the point is, I agree with them.

Hmmmm what do you guys think of this. So u know how in mordremoth final chapter you have a hard mode? What if every single world boss you were allowed to choose that? Or when you quest to fill the hearts?

Would in my opinion be wasted effort by the devs.

Won’t happen, won’t work. Will destroy only the whole game’s balance in every kind of way possible beyond what Anet can possibly even repair after this change with the only way out being a 100% return to the original state of before the change with a patch of a backup state of the game.

Share Yargeshs opinion, 100% agree on this will be just a wasted effort/ressources that are better spent on actually real content and feature improvements of the game, instead of forcing this braindead dual class/spec system of GW1 back to GW2, which was the reason to begin with, why GW1s game balance miserably failed on the long run, so more complex the game became over time.

Something I would love to see added is expansion based guild missions. Although I can understand why they don’t do it in HoT, imagine a guild starting a rush in VG while there is the meta going. Even searching for and fighting bounties would be problematic, but maybe on Path of Fire maps that do not have a map meta it could work.

I didn’t know gw1 had that feature already. And didn’t know it would do that.

GW1 didn’t had this feature par se,
It used a Dual Class System, that allowed players to mix together their classes with an other class, which resulted naturally with the tons of skills the game provided in an unendless build diversity, where like felt 95% of possibly builds were mostly useless, while the other 5% were meta…

It lead to the game becoming only harder and harder to balance, so more classes Anet added over time within the years after release, due to every skill balance patch endign up only into an totally uncontrollable chain reaction after another, where Anet removed with every patch like xx overpowered builds, but created with every patch unwillingly like xxx new overpowered builds they would need to fix for the next patch…

When you can just combine everythign with everything, the mess that comes out of such a braindead system naturally can be only infinite!
Thats why ANet reduced everythign from skills to classes down and why GW2 has a single class system, and will always stay at that, because its much easier to balance, to overview and will never result in uncontrolable tons of chain reactions that come from made skill balance chances, because everythign isn’t combineable here with everything, like in GW1.

ANd thats also why we will never get to see something similar, like “dual elite specs”
its the reason, why they limited them from the begin on to 1.
if you could have more than 1 at a time, it would also totally water down the Elite Spec System and its purpose of character progression it has for what a specialization stands for, if you could just have all of them and combine them together… this would end up only in more powercreep galore, that nobody of us truly wants.

It needs to stay overviewable.
