I think that it was first and last time when I am buying guild wars 2 game cards. Reason why, you can only active when you open game. What a point to buy game if you can do with paypal in game. I think GW marketing team have some problems with thinking. Second all game cards are £10 each. Is a lot hassle is not worth to invest in game because they are making harder to buy thing if you don’t want use online service.

You use it if you don’t have a credit card, or as a gift for a friend. Some countries also get a more favorable amount of gems depending on the exchange rate at the time.

This is what I do, not because I don’t have a credit card (I do), but because I prefer to pay for things in cash. I’m kind of old school that way.

You mean buying Gems cards? Where I live, they are cheaper since there is no tax on them compared to buying gems in-game.

And is it really a hassle to activate (aka punch in the card number) in-game? Where else are you going to spend them other than in-game?

Wait, you don’t want to redeem the gems in the game, where the only place you can spend them is in game?

I’m confused. I could see that if you could spend them on the website wanting to add them via the website, but you can’t. So I don’t see the issue. Unless you want to add them at work where your partner can’t see you adding it because they don’t want you spending so much money on the game…

In the UK, GAME take traded in games in exchange for gem cards. May not sounds like a worthwhile trade, but it can cut down costs.

Plus, as Gaile says, they make a more personable gift
