Q:
Gaming Mouse for GW2
A:
I’ve gone for the G300, Logitech.
Not too big, 30ish Euros iirc, solid (mine is 1-2 year old and is still as day one), and have few buttons (2 near left click, 2 near right click, 2 near the scrolling wheel, round total of extra 6 buttons), and have a nice software + 3 different setting profiles saved.
Might not be the top if you’re planning to use it in a much more button mashing MMOs (where you have 30 or so skills), but for GW2 is just perfect: placed there utilities + elite, call target and weapon swap, and that’s enough.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.
I have a G300 as well, and I love it. It’s not too expensive, and has enough buttons to suit GW2 just fine. I keep 67890 on my mouse and it works great.
If you’re looking for a good deal, look at woot.com. Every now and then they have Razor and Logitech gaming gear for sale (a lot of it is refurbished, though).
I use a Razer Naga Molten, but as that would be too many buttons for what you asked I suggest the Razer Naga Hex. I’ve never used one, but I assume it’s just as great as the regular Naga with just 6 side buttons instead of 12.
I do like the regular Naga, so if the Hex is just as good I would look into it.

I had a logitech g400 but the logitech software was bogging down my system. also had a razer deathadder but the synapse 2.0 software is god awful. I recently switched to the roccat kone xtd and man this thing rocks. A tone of customization, tones of buttons (which can be mapped to literally anything), software runs solid, no regrets. At least check em out.

I have a logitech as well. It does the job. I tried a razer of some sort with a bunch of buttons on the left side for a couple of days. I dont know how those players use the mouse to move and steer without touching those buttons unintentionally. Perhaps if I had given it more time.
I currently use a Logitech M510 wireless mouse. It’s a pretty typical mouse, has the 2 clicking buttons, the scroll wheel, plus 2 additional buttons on the left side that would be used for back/forward while browsing the net. I have changed my keys around so that my dodge button is on the left-side back button, so I can quickly dodge with just a click from my thumb. It’s obviously not some super crazy gaming mouse, and I think I picked it up for $20-30, but it has lasted me over half a year now, so I have got more than my money’s worth out of it imo.
Logitech G600. Best mouse hands down.

Ok thanks everyone last question. Should I get the G300 or G500 the price isn’t an issue with these.
naga with 12 buttons is Really good though.it takes a while to get adjusted to it but once it fits,it fits like a glove. You only have to press skills using your thumb, your left hand is completely free for movement, evading, looting, using, whatever you have put on there. You wont ever play as fast with a normal mouse + using keyboard skills vs someone with a razr.
I’ve been using the 12 button Naga since I started. Awesome mouse.

Third that
Dont go for logitech g700, logitech game software is biggest pile of shi* i
ever see. Also its not support gw2 profile so i must play only using wire connection on wireless mouse and force profile settings.

Fourth I was a huge Razer fan and went through a couple of nagas before trying the g600…and I consider it vastly superior. Side buttons are angled so they are easier to get a feel for, and the mouse is larger which is great if you’ve got bigger hands. Plus it has the an index finger button, which I use for weapon swap.

Funny, my g700 works just fine wired or not. Though, I am considering getting a Razor Naga because the button quality seems better.
I’m currently using a DeathAdder 2013. It’s a really good and comfortable mouse though with only 2 additional buttons on its side. Price is about $70 which is pretty average for a gaming mouse. If you need more buttons than that, you can consider any of the mice within the CM Storm series too, they’re much cheaper at $60 and below and have a minimum of 4 additional programmable buttons. I did a comparison at this particular site here so you could probably do the same: http://bestgamingmouseadvisor.com. Good luck with your purchase!
g600 hands down.
it got 12 buttons on the side
I am using Razer Naga Hex its perfect for GW2 imo:-)
Tekkit’s Workshop
I’m using the A4tech XL-747H
It has a maximum of 3600 dpi, weights for adjusting the move and a software to customize the play. It has a small button in the front, perfect for the dodge move.
It is cheap too
/cheers
Avoid Logitech G700 at all cost. I bought one a couple of months ago and the first thing that went wrong was that the palm grip cover peeled itself apart after just a couple of days of using. Additionally on normal gaming profiles the battery can’t last more than 10-15 hours which means you will be forced to use the wired connection on a mouse that was essentially supposed to be used wirelessly. As that was not bad enough some of the switches (middle click etc.) feel a bit awkward and some of the buttons, especially those next to the left click are very hard to reach even if you have somewhat bigger hands. After using a Logitech Performance MX mouse which is absolutely a stunning piece of technology (though not considered as a gaming mouse per se) I have a feeling like G700 is not made by the same company that made Performance.
There is one advantage though – if you play as elementalist then the four switches on the side are just perfect for switching attunements.
Razer Naga and you’ll never look back.
I use the Steelseries WoW Cataclysm edition mouse.
God that feel wrong to say :p
Anyway, personally I can use any mouse with a thumb and pinky pad. G600 just wouldnt do.
If I where looking at a new mouse today, I’d look at the Logitech G500S or the Saitek RAT7. I’ve had a QPAD 5K and was not impressed. I had a Razer Deathadder as well, but the form doesnt suit me. And of course I’ve had 4 or something variants of the Logitech MX518 lol (and later a G5). kitten I go through many mice
g600 hands down.
THIS!! THIS!!! AND ONLY THIS!!!!
The Logitech G600 is an awesome mouse, everyone goes for razer because of brand name and advertising but this is gods gift to gaming mice! seriously try it out!

No. Everyone goes for the Naga because the buttons on the Naga are a hundred times better than the G600. Which you would have noticed yourself if you only had tried both mice.

That was actually a really good mouse… except it was big. Like 1980’s Buick big. I’m using the Naga Hex which is pretty awesome.
I’d offer the one responsible a carafe of balsamic vinaigrette dressing and some croutons.”

Razer Naga all the way. I can’t live without it. I used to have a Logitech. Go with the Razer. It will take a little while for you to get adjusted to using the side buttons. Once you are comfortable with it, you’ll never understand how you were able to play without this mouse.
Get a good keyboard too. I use the Razer Black Widow Ultimate. Full mechanical keyboard, zero ghosting, and the light scheme when mixed with the mouse is sick nasty.
Not enough buttons….. And its mostly white. Will probably look disgusting in a month. Steel Series does make quality products however.
