Maybe its not so new, but for me it is a relatively new concept to make money from gathering.

With the loot drop “bug/nerf” affecting how much I was earning in game, I looked for a new source of income. And gathering has been my choice.

Initially it takes some work getting characters to 80 to be able to profit from this method, but once they are at 80, and got their exotic armour, you can harvest rich mithril, orichalcum, ancient wood, and omnomberries and sell in TP for a nice profit.

I gather in Frostgorge Sound, Southsun Cove, Malchores Leap, and Cursed Shore taking 45 mins each character and make over 2G from TP sales per character. While it can take time to find and map everything initially, it is certainly rewarding once you have everything setup.

And after you’ve done your gathering runs, you can play the game how ever you like not having to worry about coin so much.

I’d like to add that www.orrmaps.com if your best bet to find all those nodes.

Get the special, green pick from Whisperwill Bogs heart vendor – more chances for “orb” type gems.

Also get the special, green sickle from heart vendor at Challdar Gorges – nodes will yield more “food”.

Also make sure not to miss the omnomberries, they are worth plenty and you should get 2 most of the times with the green sickle!

I used to use orrmaps but they went down when I needed a map (as well as other issues with the site) so I made my own. But yes you can use orrmaps to either view maps, or to make your own. The most liked map becomes the server map. Just be aware that it does not work properly in some browsers.

If you want to make your own personal map, take screen shots of the map, resize them with your favourite graphics program and save them as jpg. Then you can use google drive to create the maps, or use your favourite graphics program. If you use google drive to make you maps, you can set up tinyurl.com to access your maps with a short web address.
