bravo 40+g to transfer to a very high server.

I would agree, 40g to transfer is a bit too much (not sure if sarcasm lol). I feel Anets needs to consider lowering down the gem prices for transfers to keep WvW not boring…(how i see it for players like me) I like seeing servers come from T8 to T2, keeps people more competitive and brings new fight and new strategy to the table. Which both losing server and winning server can learn from.

Eventually if the next WvW update is not significant i feel like some of the PvP hardcore players will start to let this game go. I know for a fact that majority members of my guild will be switching to ESO because WvW is not what it used to be for them.

I would like to point out that a certain large PAY-TO-PLAY game charges $25 to transfer to any server, low-pop or not.

In this game, however, you get the option to transfer with in-game coin if you so wish. The exchange rate for gold > gems is set by the players based on, I’m assuming, the volume of exchange.

I think this is an awesome system compared to the systems I’ve used in the past. I feel the price variations based on the server population is quite genius, too.

Also, we have the guesting system.

Simply put, they’ve done an awesome job with their server systems.

For the longest time there had been an outcry by WvW players about server hopping and lower population and less competitive servers getting rolled by higher population servers. If your server was losing, people would leave and go to a winning server. In other words, if you are losing you will lose even more.

Many actually wanted ANet to charge for server transfers to dissuade server hopping. From the beginning ANet made it clear that they were going to charge for server transfers. Unfortunately, they didn’t want to do so until guesting was nearly available but by then the damage had already been done. Eredon Terrace, one of the servers I was on was one of the top 3 servers in WvW. All the big WvW guilds started leaving and now it’s near the bottom.
