Hello all, im new to the game.

And i have looked on some sites that talks about this subject but i need some clarification about it. Since the topics are very out dated (4-8 months old).

Well i was looking for style in the gem store, and i would like to buy it, but i hear it’s only a one time use and if you want to reuse it it will cost real life more (transmute thingy)

Is this correct ? cause i have the herotic version and i have that “medium armor” thing selected and sometimes i could change the look on my character with out using those (transmute thingy)

So im kinda confused, hope that some one could explain things for me.

And if it’s wise to buy these “style” at a lower level, since the old topic said it’s best to wait to lvl 80 ~

Thanks !

P.S i find it kinda stupid but i guess they need the money from some where…

With a new warderobe system you are free to equip it any time you want after a purchase for a transmutation charge for each piece of equipement (you can.mix and match armor akins too) transmutation charges can be obtained by world completion or pvp or sometimes dailyes. And you don’t need to pay a sigle dime. Quest and make gold then convert gold to gems and buy a wanted armor. But its best to play with that once you reach 80 and find yourself a build that suits you and armor that suits you with right stats. Then transmute away

When you purchase an armor set off the gem store you will recieve a full set (6 pieces) each with a single charge. So say you bought “Primeval Heavy Armor Skin” you will receive in the mail:

Primeval Gauntlets (1 use)
Primeval Legplates (1 use)
Primeval Pauldrons (1 use)
Primeval Warboots (1 use)
Primeval Warhelm (1 use)
Primeval Warplate (1 use)

Once the skin has been transmuted the charge is consumed, but the skin will be saved in your wardrobe and can be used again without having to buy it a second time. To transmute a skin you’ve unlocked it will require a “Transmutation Charge” which is obtainable through:

Gem Store (150 for 5 / 270 for 10 / 600 for 25)
Black Lion Chest (Random)
Daily achievement reward (Random)
Map completion reward (1 per zone)
PvP reward tracks

To be clear, it’s a skin, no stats. You change the look of the armor with the stats you want with these skins. 1st skinning is “free”. All subsequent skinning costs a transmutation charge.

Before the wardrobe, you had to buy the skin a 2nd time from the gem store if you wanted a 2nd character to also wear it. Now it only costs transmutation charges.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

RIP City of Heroes
