Q:

I want to delete one of my characters but she has a soulbound pick, the Molten Alliance Mining Pick. I don’t want to throw away a 1000-gem purchase. All of the other gathering tools I’ve purchased/seen in the Gem Store bind to account, not to a single character.

Am I out of luck or is there some way I can either get a refund or a different pick through Customer Support? Has any one else had this issue?

A:

You can convert soul bound unlimited tools to account bound by visiting the black lion weapon specialist. You just need to make sure it is unequipped and in your character’s inventory to do so. That is a change they made some time ago when they switched all of them to account bound on acquire.

What Trogdor said. Just take it to the NPC and convert to Account Bound. Then just put it in your bank before deleting the character.

Um, you probably deleted this character already, but how old this character is? I would keep it for birthday presents.

Agreed. It’s worth 210-250 gold to keep an older character — some of the dyes you can unlock for 3rd, 4th, and 5th birthdays are worth more (sometimes much more).
