I have a question here. If I want to buy gems, I get 33 for 60s.

If I want to sell 33 gems, I get 42s68c.

Thats around 30% cut.

Is there an explanation for that?

I would like an official answer or a link to an official explanation.

There’s a lot of info burried in that thread, but the answer you’re looking for is in there. The short of it is that there’s a transaction fee going each direction in the conversion.
