Guild Wars 2

Currently there are three mobs in game that qualify towards the Giant Slayer achievement, two of which are Champion mobs and the only non-champion mob is event generated AND the event bugs out easily, in multiple ways.

Please Anet, add more of this mob type to GW2. A mob or five in the EotM would be lovely or other areas that the lore would permit.

Well if yo are really that dedicated you might as well solo the champs.

There is an event in Brisbane Wildlands that spawns giants. It is in the southwest corner. The more people you have there the more giants spawn. There is another thread about this that gives more info on that event.

I’m hoping they put in a new map that has giants as a regular mob. So far I’ve got 22 killed, with the last one about 6 months ago.

We need a Giant-Invasion in S2..

There is a map that has standard, non-Champion giants (pretty sure I saw it mentioned above). The the achievement is totally doable. In fact, I’ve completed all of the slayer achievements. So have several guildies. Get a couple of helpers, and it’s possible to get 30-100 kills per hour if you don’t get too bored.

I actually discovered there is a place that spawns giants frequently. You have to talk to an NPC to start the event and If you have more than 10 people you can get around 5 giant kills over the period of the event. This event is also repeatable every 5-10 minutes and the more people you have…the more giants spawn.

With that said, Farming giants is still tedious but I think it is one of those OMG I DID IT! type achievements that not many people have (if any)
